Arrgggghhh, bad deal, its an SCA-2 drive. Good luck in finding an adapter. I am stuck with an SCA-2 18 gig ultra 160, but it only goes to 40mb/sec cus of the stupid adapter from transinternational.com. Dont ever buy from them. Their adapters are fake. hardly anyone else sells the sca-2 ones either.
I really don't want to crap on this thread at all, because that is a great price for the drive.
Also it's the SCA version and I am going to talk about the 68 pin version of the same drive.
Just an FYI...
I have a Quantum Atlas4 36 gig drive that runs like a champ!
However I have a second drive that has given me nothing but pain. It would not mirror with the first (they are identical drives) in fact it brought the machine literally down during the mirroring process. I took it out of that machine and ran it stand alone in a system and the system was unstable. Eventually doing a chkdsk (Win2K) showed 8GB in bad sectors.
I am now attempting to RMA it.
So, if the drive you get for this good price is a star you will be happy. If it's a black hole just make sure you get a warranty and you keep your paperwork.
SCA is not bad, adapters are easy to find, and easy to use. I actually prefer SCA drives, because I have an SCA backplane in my system. The only thing is, as stated, you have to make sure that your adapters are LVD compatible.
