Should i go with the 65nm brisbane (3600+ @ 1.9) or the 90nm windsor core (3800+ @ 2.0)? It will be a gaming machine mostly. WHich one and why? Thanks guys.. you make life easier.
Do you plan on overclocking? From what I've seen the 3600+ will overclock a little better, and will use significantly less power.
Why all the C2D questions? Some people don't want to spend the cash on a C2D, especially since the extra money is better spent on the video card when it comes to gaming.
Considering the 3600 X2 is almost 2 times cheaper than the cheapest core 2 duo, and only 20 % slower at stock speed. The saved money could be used for a better gpu
The 3600+ should run cooler, and the extra speed difference between it and 3800+ could be made up easily by slight overclock.
get the combo deal at newegg: T550+x2 3600+ I think many has good success OC that pair. and it's only 150 dollars. Oh don't forget get a freezer 64 to go with this combo.
though the boards are in their infancy. Otherwise I'd recommend either the DFI NF UltraII-M2 or the Abit NF-M2 nView.
That's only if you get a 3600+. You're free to get a Core 2 for more possible performance (especially if you get it up to 3.2 ghz or higher), but you will pay extra for that.
