Once upon a time, in a country far away, there was this man Tim. Tim had some friends who invited him one day to look at their new gadget. A computer. The moment Tim saw this peace of technology he knew that one day he would buy his own.

And so he worked hard, every day of the week, to set some money aside for his goal, and finally, after a year or so, he walked into a shop. Very proud and with great care he took his computer home.

As he opened the box he gave his computer the name Annie. Annie was his only love. He adored her so much that he didn't have time for anything or anybody else. They spent a lot of time together and shared some great moments. They played games together, they made their homework together and they even slept together (at the same time).

After about two years Annie got older and tired. She didn't want to do the things that Tim wanted to do. She couldn't care less that she had no 3D card or advanced speaker system. And when Tim wanted to play the newest games she just couldn't take it anymore so after some talking Tim and Annie decided to break up. Tim went on with his life and got him a new girl with all the power and capabilities you could imagine. She even had access to the Internet. Again they spend a lot of times together while Annie just stayed there unplugged in a closet surrounded by some old shoes and a broken VCR. She felt very useless. Annie cried for many nights and she hoped that one day Tim would love her again just like the early days. Her prayers were heard.

A couple of years later Tim saw something on the internet about distributing computers and all that stuff and he suddenly remembered Annie. So finally the day came that Annie could make herself useful and loved again by cracking some codes from the net. She knew she didn't crack so well as her rival but she was happy and smiling again. As days gone by, Annie was cracking beside her stronger competitor hoping that she might be the one to crack the code.

Than one day, Tim, surfing on the net, started to read something on the Internet on some forum but when he got tired he went to bed. Annie was really interested in the things they wrote on that forum so she started to read all by herself. Suddenly she felt really hot and she knew there was something wrong. Despite all the attempts to shut herself off or disconnect herself from the net, the left side of the monitor slowly started to melt. It only took about 2 minutes before the flames got out of her mouse and within 10 minutes the flames were everywhere.

........

As he woke up in his hospital bed, severely hurt and barely realizing what happened, Tim looked at the nurse and asked her quietly: "Is Annie all right?" The looks on the nurse?s face told him she was not. A teardrop felt on the sheets and with his final breath he said: "If those people on that forum would not have caused those flames Annie probably would have found the code by now". A few minutes later he died.

Please stop the flames.

Member numbers are somewhat misleading. For example, If I ass laminate 60 computers into my herd (dream mode) next week when I go to the university, they would appear into TA Cube and that would still be just one email address. the only thing that matters is the number of blocks crunched. BTW, can IBM mainframes crunch rc5 with a special version of the client? I might tell a friend of mine to try and convince a university administrator. After all, that beast has a lot of idle time still if I remember well.
