37" LCD HDTV $1749

It actually has a $50 MIR but that expires tomorrow. I went to my local Costco to look at TVs and this one is as good or better looking than the Sharp and Panasonic 37" LCDs displayed next to it (which cost almost double). It also has 1920X1080 native res compared to the other 2 that have 1280X720 (I think). I know it's a Sceptre instead of a big name, but from what I hear all companies are on a level playing field when it comes to LCD and plasma technology.

There are a few 37" starting to arrive now in that price range- check out AVSForum. Pretty soon 1080p will be the norm for LCD HDTVs. I bet by next year they'll be ~$1k.

I was told by Costco CS that this is not available in stores and can only be purchased online. Where did you see it in a store may I ask? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure it was the same one in Santa Rosa, CA. It was the same brand, 37" LCD, with the same native res, and generally the same looks. I guess it could have been different though. They were changing the display around so the pricing was not posted, which was what prompted me to look it up online.

Not so hot, sams is cheaper on a 42"

Bigger, cheaper, made in the USA, built in HD tuner, 2 year warrenty.

Only drawback i see on the sams display is lower native res.

Uh Sams is a Plasma not and 1080p LCD. = not as good imo.

ah ha! you're the one that runs around and grabs the hot deals posted here before I have a chance to get to them. just kidding. I noticed the Rohnert Park Costco was getting some Sceptre stuff in, might have been monitors though. If you buy this, check out the Best Buy in SR... They have a large selection of the $9.99 Superbit DVDs. I asked one of the sales guys there, and he said the superbits were going to be that price until some time in september. They look incredible on my 60" panasonic LCD projection tv.
