These drivers seem to be a nice boost for DX12, as I'm getting over a hundred points extra in Time Spy DX12 compared to my previous drivers, which was the 369.05

I updated one of my PCs to Windows 10 Anniversary and installed these drivers at the same time, dxdiag actually says it's WDDM 2.1 and DX12 for my GT 610. Previously it said WDDM 2.0 and DX11.3.

Fermi finally getting DX12?

Doesn't seem like it I'm afraid. Unfortunately I don't have more to test with than Dolphin, and that gave an error when attempting to use DX12. Think it said failure to initialize Direct3D 12 device.

GPU-Z also shows DX12 feature level 11_0 btw, don't know if it's always been like that.

Just installed the new drivers and it looks like the DPC latency looks to be fixed.

The other good news is that the input keyboard lag I use to suffer is fixed in Doom using Vulkan API. Atm Im enjoying a rough 10~12% increase in FPS (OpenGL4.5 would float at around ~136FPS and in Vulkan at the same place ~151FPS). Good stuff. Will try out timespy later on this week.

For those who haven't gotten these drivers, should really try them out now!

I just installed these yesterday and I am experiencing some strange things happening. My screen is constantly flickering when I scroll in the browser, it also happens intermittently if I am not scrolling too. I uninstalled, used DDU in safe mode and reinstalled them but I experience the same thing this morning. I didn't have this issue previously so I am not ruling it on the monitor yet.

Just viewing this thread to see if anybody else was experiencing the same thing as US....The flickering.

We got the same monitor but it's not the issue.

It's the driver most likely. I only really experience it initially after booting up my rig. Desktop, chrome, exploring folders, etc. Lasts a minute or two. I blame it on boost. On mine it doesn't last long at all. Didn't have the issue with the hotfix drivers.

Yup same for me just as you describe. Always after each reboot and during any time that you open and folder, scroll in browsers, etc. Changing the frequency from 144hz to 120 and then back to 144 fixes it until next reboot.

I reverted back to the previous drivers and no issues now.

Soooo...I've been lazy (get that out of the way) and haven't done a full system clean install (just been too busy.)

Anyways, does downloading the "wrong" driver version from NV.com actually affect things? I've been having horrid performance in Borderlands 2 with PhysX even on Low (have read this is a legacy issue, exists across Win8/8.1/10) which I've accepted but the random game lock ups are infuriating when Borderlands 2 uses some archaic tracking system. I lose hours of progress because my game (only not the system) locks up.

Anyways, I originally downloaded the Windows 10 64bit Anniversary Edition driver, thinking my Windows up to date. Well it wasn't turns out I still had the older build (1511) and am now thinking that was the cause of my earlier headaches. So wondering if this would really adversely affect my GPU performance?

Welps, now on Win10 anni build 1607, reinstalled all drivers, and will see how everything goes later tonight.

Sometimes windows update installs the driver for the GPU on its own. Many times this is fine or its a different version. You can always download driver uninstaller run a clean in safe mode and reinstall the GPU drivers from the manufacturer website.

Windows didn't install the driver, I did. I picked the wrong one from the drop down menu thinking I had Anni edition (I didn't). I also have it disabled to let Windows touch my drivers.

I re-ran Timespy, my score was a little higher but now I'm getting even more errors. At this point it's probably just time to do a clean install.

I saw that too in their drop down. How do you know if you have the anniversary edition? Both my laptop and desktop have received the semi long updates. So I should have it, but I recently reverted to the previous drivers since these ones gave me really bad flickering and desktop artifacts.

Both Windows 10 drivers are the same I believe. Where you do have a difference is between the Windows 10 driver and the previous Windows versions (8.1 and below).

On Windows 10, in the "Ask me anything" search bar type "About your PC" and in the info screen under Version it should read 1607. That is the latest build of Windows. I too remember one day having a long update which is why I assumed I had the Anniversary version. Turns out I didn't was still using Version 1511.

Normally I'd agree with you, but MSFT has already shown to break support from one build to another. I went without a soundcard because between Preview build something to Preview Build Something else because they changed the audio stack. There is a reason why MSFT let's you roll back builds.

Anniversary Edition also introduced WDDM 2.1 which may or may not directly affect GPU performance.

Welps, I give up. Will format PC tomorrow after work while I play Bloodborne.

Did the usual steps, and still keep getting:

Your score contained the following anomalies

  • - Graphics card is not recognized
From 3DMark, and now 3 games I've played randomly crash (requiring me to force shut down Windows or hard reset).

I had screen tearing in the lower third of my monitor on the desktop moving windows around.

Restarting it fixed that.

Why does Nvidia insist on disabling SLI after installation?

But you downloaded the driver from Nvidia not MSFT. Regardless of which Windows 10 version you chose the driver should be identical. You can download both right now and checksum it to be sure. In any case regardless of what happened previously you can still just do a clean install of the same driver right now if you really don't trust it.

Welps, at this point I'm flat out of ideas, unless someone can recommend anything, next step is full format (trying to avoid it since backing up some save game data is such a chore :/)

DDU into an older driver set: 368.81, but still

Had a eureka moment while I was cleaning some dishes, figured what if it's because I'm using BIOS setting #2 on my card. Flipped it back, everything is basically stock, yet still, same issue. Claims my GPU is not recognized.

Tried two driver sets, both BIOS options, uninstalled/reinstalled 3dMark, same issue. I get a result but it won't validate it because it says my GPU is not recognized which is odd because in the results it clearly states my GPU, it doesn't say generic VGA or anything, but when I click compare online - there it shows as generic VGA.
