I remember when people were saying that Nehalem was barely faster than Penryn and that it was only good for servers.
once they made the announcement of the early usb bug on haswell, I jumped on ivy out of frustration. microcenter 229.99 3770k helped.... it'll be interesting to see if it comes to bite me.
Why would it? To the people saying "My 3570/3770 is going to last me a while" - so? What do you need more CPU power for these days? If you needed more CPU power, why aren't you on SB-E or IB-E already?
Would a Haswell avoid a bottleneck in those situations? Some games still get bottlenecked by even a 3770K when multiple GPUs are used.
Would a Haswell avoid a bottleneck in those situations?
If a new generation of videocard came out that added just 10% more performance would you buy it? Of course not. My i5 2500K at 4.5GHz is all that you will need for years to come.
I wonder how many people here will upgrade SB and IB to Haswell. I for one am planning to.
