its a custom test, not blend

also i want to test everything, not just my cpu, so i personally like my custom test over the small or large fft

i've used small or large in the past...i personally think my custom test works better...but thats jes me

Edit: Voltage varies from around 1.32v-1.34v to 1.39v. 1.35v is about the average.

The cpu markings are:

ADA3800DAA5CD
CCBWE 0529SPMW

Link to the CPU ID of the cpu.

I got same chip new in box.. havent installed yet.

I just got my X2 3800 installed today and so far I can only get up to 2.55ghz range. It's a toledo core. The first core can do 2.7ghz fine but the second one only reaches 2.55. At 1.45vcore so far. Dunno how y'all got it at such a low vcore. Mine just won't oc at stock vcore very well.

AMD did this not because of temperature issues, but to protect the CPU core from getting crushed during HSF installation.

2.6ghz is plenty fine for me anyways. I probably won't even keep it that high. 2.4ghz will do me just fine. It is equal or really even a bit better than the 3400+ (2.4ghz) s754 Newcastle I have in Single threads and really put it to shame in multiple threads. Yeps, should suit me just fine

Ummm... Who? Spi 1m can be run 100+mhz below prime stable on my a64's. Spi 32m about 50mhz below.

Just for your interest, I'm running the same core revision as you JH-E6 (Manchester/Toledo?).

X2 3800+ 2.8Ghz@1.4v Prime stable 13hours+

So, all things being equal, I think there should be a little more in your chip @ 1.4volts.

dude, i think you've posted up this picture several times but you still have NOT posted up a dual prime stable pic???

The dual prime stable piccies I have seen didn't seem to contain any times in them so I didn't feel it was relevant. But I just noticed bjc112 pic with the Task manager times...If you feel it is of interest to everyone I will run prime95 tomorrow and post the piccies.

Well heres a pic for the skeptics..

http://pics.bbzzdd.com/users/bjc112/x2600PRIMEstable.JPG

...I wasn't being skeptical just myopic...

I thought I would push the Mhz up a bit and tighten my memory timings to 2.5, 2, 2, 5 (Pity I can't get to CL2!) before I primed this time...

Prime95 @2852 1.45

Stable for 6 hours 42/8 hours 5minutes, repectively.

Needs another voltage jump but I much prefer sitting at 2.8Ghz@1.4v - Just changing the last timing from 6 to 5 has given me another 700 points on 3dMark01.

You've definitely got a better core than I do. I can't even get 2700mhz stable with 1.4v, much less 2.8ghz. Your hsf is better than mine but I doubt I could get mine even stable at 2700mhz@1.4 with that hsf. Oh well, I will be happy with what I have

Well i got everything today. A 3800+ X2 Retail from zzf & a ASRock 939dual-sata2 from Newegg. I installed everything and put my geil value in (512x2). At first i was like WTF because i didn't see any HTT options to overclock with so i just decided to install windows and see what the new bios would bring. So I installed XP and first thing i did was go to asrocks site and download the 1.2 bios (i didn't want to use a beta bios). I install that and then i see OC options . I set the HTT to 2.5 and boot up to see if everything seems stable and it does. So i bump it to 255 and again everything seems rock stable. I then reboot and change the HTT to 260. Everything seems pretty stable so then i download prime95. Unbenounced to me everything was not as stable as i though. Prime95 fails after two executions. I had some corsair value sitting around here so i tried that and still no cookie at 260. I did download speedfan and temps seem pretty hot. 52-54c at full load. Maybe a big typhoon would help? Right now im running at 257HTT 10x multiplier and prime95 has been running for an hour and everything is smooth.

I found out the processor really gets. When i was swaping out ram i knocked a cable into the cpu fan and didn't know it. System kept crashing suddenly and i had no idea why. I looked down and seen the cpu fan wasn't spining. So i turn off the system and touch the heatsink...OUCHHHHH...it was almost hot enough to burn me.

Anyways still a very respectable OC....i wanted to get 260 after i seen your results but originall i told myself i would be happy with 250HTT and since this is even faster than a 4800+ im elated. Maybe i will try a HUGE heatsink/fan like the typhoon to see if it helps things out. I don't think my ram is the bottleneck and i have a descent psu (thermaltake 485W). To bad this baby doesn't have higher vdimm/vcore settings. Overally im very pleased but i will be working on 260htt to see if i can hit it and be stable.

I can say i really like this board for the price. There are a few minor things i don't like

1) VCore/VDIMM settings
2) The connector for the floppy is like in the worst place you could every thing to put it.
3) i much prefer award to ami bios.

Peace,
Ncage

I'm running about 1.375V at 2.55GHz.
