you guys seem to be labouring under the delusion that i posted something against this card or AMD. All i did was post the link like many users do here. Yes, i don't expect this card to perform well in Crossfire because AMD drivers are as poor as nvidia's and technology is not so advanced as I would have hoped for.
Also the benchmarks of a single card setup show that it peforms very close to 8800 Ultra that was released several months ago
Keysplayr - The "benchmarks" show a card without a proper driver. You're not "hearing" us.
, AMD matching the speeds of "almost out of production" cards of nvidia and users being very excited about it does not show any logic involved, they are either AMD fans who want AMD to do something great or just people who like being involved in the hype. Users are actually looking forward to buy an outdated card, wait for a better card or if you are itching to blow some money then donate it to poor geeks who cannot afford this pile of crap.
It does not matter whether or not you're against the card. That's not the issue here. The issue is that you are comparing this card to others when you should not be doing this........... yet.
I'll try one last time. How can you compare the X2 to ANYTHING right now, when there are no drivers for it?
That is like taking a brand new 8800GT and letting Windows load the default MS driver for it, and run benchmarks with it, then say it doesn't look pretty.... I don't know any other ways of putting it, but you just won't "hear" us.
One more time. There are no official drivers for the 3870X2. None. Nada. You cannot compare it to anything. Not a thing.
This thread should never have been made.
I'm not trying to be a wise-ass here. Just a "smart"-ass.
EDIT: And WTF is this?? Here is a quote of yours from the 9800GX2 thread:
"
you don't get it. The hardware is as efficient as the software, as long as we don't get true 9800gx2 drivers we cannot estimate the actual performance. You might as well add 30% extra frames to an 8800 Ultra benchmarks but that's inappropriate."
Again, WTF????? So you DO understand what we are talking about. So you gave the GX2 the benefit of not having "true 9800GX2 drivers", but not the 3870X2.
What are your comments on this before you get labeled?
