39.99 prescription glasses

I saw this website over at FW and it sells prescription glasses for 39.99 including everything!! Several people at FW said that the quality seems pretty good. I just returned a pair of glasses to lenscrafter that cost me 300 bucks. I will give more info when I get my pair

Nice find ! I've been needing a pair of reading glasses (everything seems to be getting smaller This is cheaper then the ForEyes "2 for $99" especially if you only need one pair.


Looks like there is a 10% discount for signing up two people - and the discount (code) can be shared with friends & family.

Think it is too much of a stretch to consider us AnandTech "hot deals" friends - It would just take 3 people to buy a pair (first purchaser and two referals).

Since I plan on getting a pair - I'll be one of the three.

I'm in the market for a new pair of glasses... my insurance expired when I graduated last spring... so these may be the ticket! If I buy, I'll PM you for the code. Good deal... 10% off makes it sweet... with my perscription, I'll need super high index.. and I can't live without AR coatings...so I'm looking at $130 for my pair! and a second set of sun glasses wouldn't hurt either...so 10% could really help

oops - just noticed that there is a special coupon @ ForEyes web site 2 pairs for $79.99 - So thats $40/pair just like the web site and you get to try them on. But then again, you got to pay tax and ForEyes specials are very limited in selection.

guess you have to add on all the extras to tell which is really the better deal. Since I only need one set of plain reading glasses - I'll try the online one.

hrm been in the market for a pair of perscription sunglasses, they're all $48 there. nothing really jumps out at me, but i just want them for my car anyways so maybe i'll give them a shot.

For Eyes is a total rip-off. The 2 pairs for $79.99 is the hook to get you into the store. I checked there when I was getting my glasses and after adding up this and that they came to over $150 a pair. You're better off going to Costco if you're thinking about going to For Eyes. Costco also has a 3 months replacement policy. If in 3 months your Rx changes they will grind new lens for you at no charge.

Cheapest eye exam I could find was at CostCo for $39.99... just as good as the $200+ one my regular eye doctor gave me annually when I had medical insurance. The contact lens fitting was about $20 more if I remember correctly, but I didn't go that route.

This place is legit. Is yahoo 5 stars (or something like that) and several people at FW are recommending this site. I personally wouldn't buy from them my primary glasses since my astigmatism is pretty high and my lenses need a lot of tweaking. I will just get a pair of sunglasses to put in my car. Can someone PM me the 10% code? or maybe we can join to get a discount

Kaiser provides eye exams for just the co payment - but you have to wait a month to get an appointment !

It looks like the first one to order (and wants to play needs to get the name and zip codes of two others that plan to order - then once the 2nd and 3rd actually order, all three get the 10% code for use on future orders. (thats how I read it - any diff takes on this ?)

If you're sick of cheap frames, you might want to check out those "unbreakable" frames or find some other good pair of frames on eBay. Then take the frames to a local place like Walmart, Shopko, etc. and have them make you up some lenses. That way you get good frames plus good lenses. I'm planning on doing this as the cheaper optometrists never have frames that are big enough for my skull (ear pieces don't hold on tight enough at back, I unconcously do something with my ear muscles to keep them in place, and then I end up with a major headache).

Don't get taken by America's Best. If you go for their cheap deal, you might be happy. But the last time I went there I had a horrible experience. I won't be going back...
