3D Prophet II GTS 64MB and Asus P3V4X Lockups?

Has anyone encountered lockups using the Hercules 3D Prophet II GTS 64MB? My computer was working fine until I reinstalled windows and added the video card. I have the following system

Asus p3v4x
intel Pent III 700E (clocked to 868)
265mb Ram
Prophet II GTS

Whether I'm overclocked or not I still get lockup and boot up problems with this card installed. Has anyone heard of a solution to this?

Okay, after reading more of the forum, I see that I am not alone with my problems (which kind of makes me feel better). Has anyone found a cure or do we wait for the latest drivers?

Why the turbo mode with the via flash...what do the three options mean?

good questions........i figured i would help this back to the top to see if we can get some answers.

I would like to know how to flash my bios on my P3V4X?........im running the 1003 bios and i think there up to 1005

flashing bios is in the manual. download new bios off of asus site. then unzip it and save the unzipped file to a floppy that you've also got aflash.exe on (copy from VIA disc) and then boot to the disk. run aflash.exe follow the onscreen instructions and it'll say to enter whatever file the 1005 are saved as on your floopy. don't forget to first backup the 1003 bios. once done enter CMOS and set everything to defaults then reset them to whatever you are using.

Try latest bios update for Guillemot card as well as latest Guillemot drivers (don't use nVidia reference drivers). make sure core is running at 200mhz and RAM at 333mhz (use powerstrip). Also make sure to have latest drivers like VIA 4in1 4.23 and AGP driver 4.03 installed in turbo mode.

I am experiencing the same problem, but I think my problem is more severe. I can't do anything. My pc will not start. The only think that I see is that the lights on my keyboard flicker. That is all. My set up was working fine before install the 64MB 3D Prophet Video card. After installing the video card my pc does not want to start. I installed a different video card on my set up to no avail. The lights flicker on my keyboard, but nothing else happens. I have bios revision 1004 on my Asus P3V4X and now I think the board is dead. I called up Asus and they told me to reset the bios by using a screw driver on these two points on the motherboard, but that did not do it. They told me that the 64MB Video card damaged the AGP slot on my board and that I should try to send it back to them. Well, I would like to know if anyone else has experienced the same problem.

I have solved the problem, I guess, I just took the board out and did not use it until the next day. I know this may sound silly, but it worked. I tried everything else yesterday to no avail. Good luck.
