3D ready LCD monitor selection

Hi all,

I'm building a new rig and want to partially hop in the 3D bandwagon. I might not get the glasses right away since I want to see how 3rd party vendor for ATI card play out and such, but I would like to get a 3D ready monitor just in case. Furthermore 120 Hz is never bad imho. Anyway, so far I've found the Acer GD235HZ and the Alienware OptX. What are the other options? Anything else to know about any of them? I've found the following review comparing the Acer vs. the Alienware, but it might have suffered from the LCD lotto so I'd like to get comments for others as well. Also, does any of you knows what's the bezel thickness, I might get into Eyefinity at some point too, but bezel thickness does not seem to be part of the standard monitor specification yet.

I'm considering buying the Alienware Optix next week. There is some good information to be garnered from this thread including a link to a all in one thread on [H].

The other options are 22" 1680x1050 monitors that were the initial launch 120hz monitors. I too mainly want the 120hz for 2D but will probably go 3D just to try it out. I settled on the Alienware as it's widely available in Aus and also from what I can tell from other forums people are quite happy with it indeed.

There are the Samsung 2233RZs. I have 3 of them for 3D Surround. 22" and native res is 1680x1050.

Thanks for the information. The OptX is only $90 most expensive in Canada, cannot find the Samsung in stock on newegg, so I guess I might get my first Alienware part ever. I hope the GTX 460 lives up to the expectations.
