3DFX Petition!!!!!!!

evilelf...ill sign it , but face facts , 3dfx is toast , and no one is sadder about it than me. i loved the fact that you could put a 3dfx card in anything and play any game on them with hardly a problem. you didnt have to take a soldering iron to it to improve visual quality or do registry hacks to get it to run right and the driver support was solid. but in the end , it wouldnt do 100+ fps , and thats what most end-users wanted , and 3dfx didnt deliver.

I don't think there is much use in anyone else buying 3dfx at this point. No the sale is not final, but even if someone bought 3dfx's IP, nVidia has already hired dozens and dozens of 3dfx engineers.

ATi obviously doesn't need IP, the Radeon is an excellent chip. They need skilled workers to help them with their drivers. But nVidia already has those.

I'm not sure about Matrox...I think they are just going to produce cards with good 2D for the rest of their feeble existence which at this point I don't project to be very far.

I think the biggest asset from 3dfx is the skilled engineers and programmers which nVidia already hired most of.

Just for kicks I'll sign the petition, and it's a nice thought, but it's not going to help anything.

Noriaki..Amen. i think they would have a much better chance of petitioning Nvidia to reintroduce the voodoo line under the Nvidia name. although i seriously doubt that would ever happen.

the voodoo brand name is such a strong name in the retail market...dont be surprised to see it rise from the ashes and reborn as a nvidia branded card.
