3dfx rebate expired, I bought the card a week ago, didn't send in the rebate yet, postmaked on 10/31/00 can I get it????

You should still get it as long as you have a dated receipt that is prior to 9-30-2000 and the rebate envelope is postmarked before 10-31-2000. Don't hold your breath waiting for it though, so far it has been about 4 months since I sent mine in....

I must have been one of the lucky ones that actually received my Valuamerica rebate before they went bankrupt! And, actually the old IBM Aptiva is still running and I have built 3 systems since then: A P233 MMX on a Tyan TX m/b, a Celeron 366 on a Soyo 810 m/b, and of course my PIII 600E on the MSI-6309. I sure hope my 3dfx rebate isn't a replay of the Valuamerica "just in before Chapter 11 filing" rebate! My friend did get his Voodoo 2 rebate from 3dfx, but it took quite a while and that was before they reported losses of over $100 million in a quarter. Glad I only paid $100 for the V3 3000 at Best Buy, so even if I never get the rebate, feel like I got a decent deal.

Oh sure, they can sue, but they will just join a long line of other unsecured creditors, none of whom will probably ever see any money. Bankruptcy is great, as long as you are the debtor! It will be interesting to see the fallout on the Quantex/Cybermax parent company's bankruptcy proceeding. A lot of other big companies will take a major bath on that one, including Intel, Microsoft, AMD, 3dfx and others.

Dang, this could be the reason why that when I log on to 3dfx and check on my rebate, it doesn't know who I am... Them sunz a bitchez... You wait tell I see them in court... whatcha mean there's a line??????

If you're having problems with your rebate, contact 3dfx tech support. They have some people dedicated to fulfillment and they are currently in the process of following up on some rebate issues.

Back in the day when I bought a Voodoo2, I sent away for a $50 rebate, and to this day I haven't gotten it yet. Lost in the mail?? Probaly not. Don't hold your breath for 3dfx to send you a check.

Believe it or not, I just received my 3dfx $30 rebate!! I guess it pays to be patient. And you certainly have nothing to lose by sending it in. Just make sure you follow their instructions explicitly, and keep copies of everything you send them. (Isn't that what scanners are for?)
