3dmark 06 won't start after installing 4850.

I just got a nice Powercolor 4850 card and decided to replace my old 8600gts.

I ran 3dmark 06 with my 8600gts card just before taking it out and everything went fine. Got something like 5800 3dmarks.

However after installing the 4850 card, 3dmark 06 just freezes at the first popup saying "it is taking some time to analyze my system". The thing is it's been stuck here for 10 minutes with no signs of progress. Anyone have an idea what's going on?

Did you run Driver Sweeper or similar software before installing the new drivers?

Yea I ran Driver Sweeper to get rid of all the Nvidia display stuff before installing the ATI drivers.

I did the renaming thing and it worked fine.

Attempting the hotfix now as I couldn't find the file to rename (I'm in Vista).

Oh, I had this problem too... I don't quite remember how I fixed it but I think I got some sort of hotfix/patch thingy for 3DMark06.

try adding

-nosysteminfo

into the command line.

Worked for me.
