Hi, I've been browsing these forums for about a week now and have finally found an excuse to post. I've been having a problem with overclocking my 6800 GT after installing new Mobo and processor, before the upgrade I had no problems using Coolbits2. I upgraded from an ASUS A7n8x w/ AMD 2600+ to MSI Neo Platinum w/ AMD 64 3200+. After the upgrade Coolbits lost it's overclocking tab along with a few others and thus losing my previous overclock which I easily had at Ultra speeds. I reinstalled Coolbits2 and tried to OC again and got much worse results. Whenenver I took it over 397/1090 3dMark would periodically freeze up during the tests then start back up with a huge drop in FPS.
I then found a comfortable speed for 3dMark to run with something close to the above mentioned speeds, resulting with a 11700 which I think is pretty poor for my setup. I'd be more accurate but I am at work right now. Even with those speeds games will lock up for a few seconds every once and a while but without a loss in FPS. Any idea why I'm getting such bad results?
My setup for reference:
MSI Neo Platunim
AMD 64 3200+
1 Gig Corsair XMS 3200
6800 GT
Western Digital 80 Gig 7200
350W PSU
Oh, and I do not have the video card running with a direct line from the PSU due to lack of extensions, it's shared with a CDRW.
