do you think o/c the videocard that much justifies the gain? (on a side note, i had a ti4200 in the same rig do ~3000 3Dmarks also)

thats a pretty good score for a TI4200. I olny get ~1600 with my radeon 8500 128meg, BUT it real game situations It only runs 5-10% behind a TI4200 so something is fishy (I've had both cards) I don't really care for 3dmark 2K3.

I think the most important thing is if the stock is good enough for your needs,

benchmarks are just benchmarks,
I can get 2K points more then you,

and we could still play a certain game without any lags

Depends largely on the applications used. Benchmarks dont reflect reality. The best way to test is to run the app and see. I was using a BBA 9600pro and had perf. problems with CAD tools. they went away after upgrading to a 9800.

agreed, depends on the game. if there's a demo for the game you play the most, try running it with the stock and OC video and see if you can notice the difference. (try and display fps if you can).. otherwise just play the game and watch your fps in similar situations. but if you look at the 3dmark fps difference, it's not that great of a spread anyways

Those scores seem a little off to me... My Radeon 9600 AIW Pro @ 450/720 scores right at 4000 3dmarks on my Barton 2800+ @ 3000+ w/1GB PC3500 system. Using Cat 4.2's and Rage3d Tweak.
Edit: then again, I'm running my memory just a tiny bit faster than you are

when it comes to synthetic benchmarks ~ 3dmock 03 is the worst of the worst.
it means absolutely nothing in the real world.
even 3dmock 01 is a better benchmark.

i dont bash to be part of the crowd ~ i bash from 1st hand experience.
3dmock 03 is not installed on my systems, nor is Sandra.
they are both 100% useless and WILL hinder your tweaking.

benchmark something you actually play/use!

All the DX9 games we've seen so far have been pretty much in-line with what 3dmark03 has indicated, so how can you say it's crap?
