3dMark03 Score Horrible!

Just built this system (sig), my scores suck! i'm getting like 1943, that was my highest, my old P4 2.8c was getting almost 10,000 with the same video card.....what could be the issue?

Probably chipset drivers? You do a clean windows install when you changed to the A64 and K8N mobo?

Well no actually all my parts were brand spanking new, that's what is weird.

Installed the motherboard drivers? DirectX 9.0?
I´m sure it has to do with some drivers. But also check your BIOS settings.
I´ve had problems like this many times, very frustrating.

yup, i have an MSI board and did the live update, have the most recent bios and drivers. could it be a graphic's drivers issue.

Far Cry is running really crappy too, but games like Doom 3 and Painkiller look and play great.

Do this...

1) reformat (just to start clean again)
2) install chipset drivers first! (before anything else)
3) install video drivers
4) install SP2 (has DirectX 9c)
5) install everything else

Sometimes windows Fs up and you gotta just start over.

what's the best way to reformat my hard drive...do i just stick the Windows cd back in and tell it to reformat?
and when you say chipset drivers, you mean the latest bios as well right?

Why not?

I got 11.5k on a run with no tweaking on a 3200+ with a 6800GT.

Why couldn't he get 10k on a 2.8c and a 6800GT?

You sure you installed the Nforce 3 drivers from the cd?
