Does this stuff work? My father's M3 has really bad headlights, it's ten years old, so the headlights have been taking a serious beating the whole time. They're a really dark gray color, so seeing at night is getting pretty difficult.

Clay bar didn't do much to mine. I'm assuming the wax the previous owner put on the car and headlight right before they sold it to me caused the plastic to oxidize. At this point I need to polish it a bit.

That theory of the wax is me talking out my ass.

I'm assuming this is the kit that includes the sandpaper? Yes. This the one to get. Should come with a plastic sealer to prevent it from clouding over just weeks later.

Yes, it works very well. I've used it on my 8 year old non-M3 Nissan Maxima with excellent results. The sanding discs are easter egg sized and work well, just make sure you use the spray liberally to keep them wet while sanding.

The kit has some awesome features.

Funny, I just ordered a kit to do my fiancee's Altima. Hopefully I can get to it this weekend and give some before/after photos. That is unless I screw it up bad and need to buy her new headlights

Don't know about 3M but the Turtle Wax kit for $10 worked great on my kids ZX2 (that's a Ford)!!!

You just replace the lenses on an M3, duh.

I used the 3m kit on my Dakota which had fairly thick lenses and it made them look like new....

I used another 3m kit on our 2005 Malibu and while it improved the lenses, the pock marks and fogginess was all the way through... I attribute that to it being a dirt cheap car/design, and just the way most newer lenses are.

Nothing works on grey. You can clay bar it, polish it, wax it with $2000/lb carnauba wax harvested from the ears of sacrificed virgins, hell you could cover a grey car in molten glass and it will still be dull as fuck because its a bland color that only the tasteless most deprived human beings to ever walk the earth since Pol Pot, Genghis Khan, and Adolphus Busch would wtfwanttopwn.

Yes it works, but make sure your drill's shaft is not bent in any way.

Make sure to wax your headlights every few weeks to keep a UV barrier on them

Personally, i think these "kits" are overrated. I have done multiple sets of headlights myself with good old fashioned sandpaper and buffing compound. No need for a special kit if you have the proper materials already on hand.

This, buffing compound and a decent buffer will do the same trick.

I've heard of people using toothpaste and a rag or polishing ball as well but i've never tried it.

The 3M kit works pretty well. My dad and I looked around for the individual materials but we couldn't find the right grades of sandpaper & didn't have the foam polisher thing.
I ordered the kit from amazon, came the next day and it took us about an hour to do both headlights. Did it this summer and they still look much better than before.
I tried toothpaste also and that didn't work, maybe I didn't do it right but anyway, I think the 3M kit was worth it (especially if you don't have everything in the kit already).

I tried blue magic cheap shit I got from dollar general along with the proper grit sandpaper from NAPA and didn't make much of a dent. I think my lenses must be clouded on the inside so I'm just gonna replace 'em this winter..
