Viztech - By all means, make sure the house is safe and secure before you leave. I hope T47 has been playing something other than UT for the last couple of years or I may be in trouble.

Two years ago Mason City, IA was 793 miles one way.
Last year to Hastings, MN was 689 miles one way.
This year it's only 420 miles one way.

I know Networkman has got me beat hands down for the distance thing, but I just wanted you guys to know how commited I am to making this thing happen.

Last place I found grits available on the menu was at a Waffle House in Missouri; after I got north of the Missouri border the grits just seemed to dissappear.

Can't even find 'em in the store sometimes, and the stock people look at you funny when you ask for 'em. Of course, the waitresses look at me funny when I request catsup/ketchup for my scramled eggs at the restaurant too, so who knows.

Seriously, it's great to meet other Anandtechers in the area, even if you're not really into DC, 'cuz it's good to know other people in the area if you're looking to do some trades or get tech help, and that kind of thing. Oh, and by all means bring your computer(s) 'cuz we need more targets/opponents.. it's gets really old fraggin' the same folks again and again.. NOT!

I've got bad news.

I found out a couple weeks ago that some friends of the family would be in town May 15 - 27th, so I figured I visit them after the gaming party in Fargo. Unfortunately, my brother has decided to fly in from Boston, and is bringing his girlfriend of two years with him.. it's expected he'll be announcing their engagement. I've been told in no uncertain terms that I will be in Detroit on the 18th/19th or there will be "consequences." :| Since the family friends will also be in town, my mom has decided to throw a party for all of us and expects me to be there.

You know how parents can be - so not showing up in Detroit would indeed be bad, thus I cannot attend the gaming party this time around. :disgust:

I am all for an ohio one, i would probably drive down to columbus area if really needed, though that would suck with gas costing $1.40/gallon!
