we also hold kind of a swap meet at this thing so your junk may be someone elses treasure

if you are interested let me or Bgod know so we can reserve the rooms on a discount card

meeting room is 26x20 and cost $100 for the weeked, the rooms will be about $65 per night but we may be able to get a discount on the meeting room depending on how many show up

I'll be bringing the UT server, two 16 port switches (if I can borrow a 8 port for that weekend), and my game machine.

We'll a few blocks from the big mall in Fargo, which means Best Buy is real close too. MAP
And despite what SAK has to say about it, the translocator will be turned ON. I've got some new tricks to teach him.

I too hope this one is as big or bigger than the last one in Hastings, MN. It was great to put some faces to all the names I see in the forums and the IRC channels.

Viztech - I hope you can make it because I've got some hardware to donate to the school, and some other stuff to sell off.
networkman - I swear I'll bring your 50' cable back. I haven't found a use for it yet.
OrangeKid - I'd love to see you make it to the third one too.

We've got to do this because the mid-westerners are the only ones to have a consistant get together. It's a pride kind of thing. Plus this year I won't have to drive for 12+ hours to make it.

Wolfie - I'm not knocking the one in Hastings. It was a 12+ hour drive and P-Man had his 12 year old son with which made the drive feel like 24+ hours. Nothing like playing 50 questions all the way there!

LANMAN - I thought you were in Grand Forks. Sure hope you can make it!

I know it is much farther away for some of you. I just wish there were a more central point to have it. Would Sioux Falls, SD work any better? I'm sure we could find a happy medium for everybody.

We could probibly get the meeting room at the airport in Mason City, Iowa again. The only thing that stunk about that was that it was on the second floor, we had to pack our stuff out each night and we couldn't stay very late.

Anyone else have any ideas about a location? This thing is still in the planning stages and we're open to suggestions.

I haven't taken the Win2k course, but I did take a class on Active Directory.. I was a bit of a nuisance though, 'cuz I kept comparing it to Novell NDS and trying to figure why Microsoft kept doing things so bass ackwards?!? :Q

As for the drive, I'm gonna talk to my boss tomorrow and see if I can get the time off; if I can, then I think with Wolfie's help that I will make the journey.

My plan is to take the two days before and the two days after that weekend, so I'll have plenty of time with which to make the drive.

I'm working on fitting it into my schedule (edit that...I mean my wife's schedule ) I don't game much but I might get the bug one of these days. I'll see if basilisk420 wants to go( I'll pick him up on the way). Also Bgod, If you need the stuff brought back to the DesMoines area, I'll haul it back and drop it off for Viztech if none of them can make it.

I'll check and give a more definate answer later.

Hmmm, I am not into games much, but my son-in-law is.

Since he and my daughter live in western WI and we are planning a trip out to see them in May anyway maybe he and I can cruise up there for a day.. Looks like about 4 1/2 hrs from his place.

I'll have to do some checking on schedules, his, mine and my wifes to see if things can be coordinated.

Quick question, are we going to be seriously outgunned with PII/450s??

Unfortunately due to the fact that we are going out there in May already if I can't coordinate things to work with the trip then I won't be able to attend.

ishmael2k - I can't speak for everybody else, but the two boxes I'm bringing are AMD T-Bird 1.2GHz and an XP 1800+. The first will be the UT Server/RC5 pProxy and the latter is my gamming machine/FTP server.
