3rd Bass The Cactus Album petition

I know "rap is crap" now that i got that out of the way, any one on here who loved 3rd Bass I started a petition to get Def Jam to re-release a deluxe edition on it's 20th birthday.


Linky I hit up Serch on Myspace and he loves the idea. This is one of the few Hip-Hop albums that deserves to see the light of day again. I know ATOT has a countless number of rap haters, but for those who remember and appreciate this album, this is a truly great cause.

Usually it's the record companies issuing rereleases to get more money from people, why on earth is the original not good enough?

good albums can get re-remaster with content added and come in a nice box set if the label knows there's enough people wanting it. A petition will show the label the fans want to see this happen with this album. It sold close to a million copies in 88, which isn't a whole lot compared to most albums. But it's a decent amount and since the tracks are already recorded putting together a box set would very cheap for them. No marketing, no videos to shoot, just adding a bit more content and throwing it in a nice package. I think it would sell well, this album was pretty big for '88 Rap standards. Back then no rappers were selling like they do today. It won't get re-released simply because it was a highly regarded album, they want to make money, that's the bottom line.

The label won't do shit here if they don't believe people want it and will buy it. The original is still great, but a re-release to a whole new generation of kids would be a thing of beauty.

lol crazy you mention Swass eplbnista, I was listening to that on my iPod last night while shopping at Vons. Great album, Buttermilk Biscuits is hilarious.

I got Swass on cassette tape back in 1990 and later on found it on CD on eBay. Buttermilk Biscuits is indeed a great song. :thumbsup: I like 3rd Bass too.
