4.1 speaker system suggestions

I have the 641's and the bass is definitely a strong point. I definitely recommend them if you want "ALOOT" of bass. You will definitely find every loose picture frame in your house. It is also accurate, too, not just boom booom. It rumbles and thumps nicely. Definitely my pick.

I heard it got discontinued because too many people were actually blowing out the subwoofers because of faulty power capacitors or something like that.

Klipsch doesn't really have any competitors in the PC speaker market... maybe the top shelf creative speakers?

I have a good ear, and I've owned multimedia speakers from both Klipsch and Boston, and Boston certainly rocks Klipsch's world as far as I'm concerned. From simple sound quality to build quality to customer service, Boston pwns.

klipsch 4.1s, Ive had 4.1 and 5.1s by klipsch, BEST by far. I now have a set of z-540s(i beleive thats them) by logitech. just get soemthing thats THX certified!

That's the key, really. Stick with speakers that are THX, and as long as you do that you'll be straight. There isn't MUCH difference between the Z560s and the Klipsch. As long as you couple the speakers with a badass soundcard, you'll be straight.

Btw, may I suggest going to bestbuy and trying out the speakers for yourself? All the bestbuys i've been to have both the Z560s and prometia 4.1s or 5.1s.

THX really means diddly squat as many hifi people know. Go to CompUSA or some stores that have these speakers and listen to them. Thats the only way.
