4/21- Maxtor 80gig 7200rpm w/ATA133 card, 109 after cpn Staples

Is this deal still on? B&M only? Web site only lists the 5400 and 7200 rpm drives by themselves, no ATA133, and prices are higher....

THe price should be no longer good....however you can try going to the B&M and if they stil have the tag that said 129 on it then you can get it for 129, but the chances of that are pretty slim.

Just had the mailboy in my office drop off this drive. P6J6L4 on the outside, and sure enough, it was a ball-bearing model inside. :| So, I called one of the local Staples and had them hold one with the P6L6L4. Time to test out the theory of being able to distinguish a fluid vs. ball-bearing drive from the outside.

Ya, it would be cool if it was a manufacturer rebate but unfortuneatly its not.......or atleast I couldnt find it on maxtor's website.

Just an update for you guys...

I just pickedup a 80gig maxtor one for $120+tax (staples $150 minus 30 printable coupon), and i got a fluid bearing model.

I got a P6L6L4.

At best buys, they had L6L4 models, but they did not have the 'free ATA card' sticker, so I avoided them. The ones w/ the free ATA card sticker were the P6L6J4 models. I finally found a staples that had the P6L6L4 model that had a free ATA card sticker on it. I'm guessing the P6 refers to the boxes w/ the Free ATA card, anyone confirm that the L6L4 models are the Fluid Bearing HD only (no card)?

I went to local Staples for xchange mine to P6L6L4 one. I had to deal with a lady in customer service deck. and she asked me to pay the price difference ($149.99 - $129.99) for the exchange. :| I tried to explain to her that both have exactly same SKU number and im just doing exchange... but she insisted i have to pay the difference. I asked to talk to manager there.. which is a woman again... the manager also gimmi the same crap that... if its a different model, i have to pay the difference on the price. Then I asked them if I returned the item, would they pay me $149.99 instead of $129.99? and they said it doesn't work that way...wut a bogas!! sheesh! never wanan deal with women again!!
