I'm looking at getting a new car this year, and I'd like to get something with amenities and a manual transmission. A friend of mine recently got a G37 sedan with an auto. I started looking at it online and discovered the 6MT version. What other luxury cars out there have a manual transmission? I hate driving, but I also don't want a couch on wheels. Suggestions? Anyone here have a 6MT that can comment?

I also like the look of the EX35, but it only comes as a couch on wheels. I might consider that as well. Comments?

Are the newer ones a little more spacious? I have a friend with I believe an '09, and it felt cramped. I also drove a 335i last year, and it also felt cramped. I looked at the 535i online to compare to the 335i, and it only had about an extra inch of leg room. I'm not tall (only 5' 9-10"), but I like to spread my arms out. I have an '02 Z/28 right now, and I can rest both my arms at a slight tilt and be comfortable. If I hadn't put a race motor in it when it was brand new, I probably wouldn't be having a lot of the problems I am now. Other parts of it are now falling apart (GM, big surprise!), so it's time to move on to a new daily driver and either garage this thing for eternity or make it a drag car.

We have a G37S with the 6 speed and they are difficult to find. I was looking for a sedan that was a manual and fun to drive, other cars we considered were:

What's up with the A4? I have a friend with a 3.2 A4, but the only thing on Audi's website is a dinky 2.0. Also, the only option listed for the A6 is couch on wheels.

1. Cadillac CTS and Chrysler 300. I keed, I keed. These aren't luxury cars.
2. 5-series beemer. Or if that's not big enough, 7-series. (Mind you, I think the 3 is big.)
3. Maserati Quattroporte. (Not that you'll be buying one.)
4. Miscellaneous Audis, though they're almost all FWD or AWD. Of course, the S4, S5, and RS5 aren't exactly slow...
5. Porsche Panamera.

Wait.. the 300 is available with a manual, but the Charger isn't?

Edit: Nope, no manual http://www.autobytel.com/content/re...ch/Chrysler/model_vch/300/series_id_int/64535

No, the you can buy a TL with the 6spd transmission and SH-AWD. Everything I've read has said this is a good combo, it's just an ugly vehicle.

No it isnt, the TSX is the Euro Accord.

The TL shares a platform with the American Accord

Many of these are wrong it you are talking about stick and clutch.

TL 6MT + sh-awd is a very nice driving vehicle, if you can get over the looks.

G35 or G37 is the first thing that came to my mind, though I don't consider it a luxury car. Most all of what you would really call a real "luxury" car are going to be autos with very very few exceptions (CTS-V, etc). You'll have to go with some older cars like the E39 M5 or go with something that is more "sporty" than "luxury". Not going to find real luxury cars like LS460 or S500 with a manual.

Cadillac CTS-V would be luxury and performance with a stick.

Personally, the manual transmission is going to be a dinosaur except to the lowbrows.

"clutchless" is going to be the way things go. (yes I do know the pedal on the floor <> clutch)

Blasphemy...
Stick with to a stick!

Some of the suggestions here don't come with a manual, as already stated. I think out of everything listed, I might still go with the G37. I have no use for AWD in a flat environment. Also, how is driving a stick "lowbrow"? Most of the tards around here can't even manage to stay in their own lane, let alone operate a clutch.
