Good deal since it includes the expensive cables.

I stopped using a hardware kvm tho when I found out about software kvm's, ie synergy.

That is awesome! I will definitely try it out, and will use it for sure when they get the video shared.

Can synergy share the display in addition to the mouse and keyboard?

No. Synergy is a KM solution not a KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) solution. However, future versions will probably support KVM. Hopefully, this will make synergy suitable for managing large numbers of headless servers.

I've found synergy to be the best for just the mouse 'kvm' because the tracking is best in the other computer's screen. If you want video options as well, checkout shareware Multiplicity or MaxiVista.

TestGuy...did your switch come with 4 Cables also? I can't see where is says one way or another, and it only shows a pic of one cable.

looks like the TRENnet 4-port, with cables, that I got from newegg a year or two ago.

It's $5 more (w/shipping) at newegg -- but maybe a better known seller.

I've been very pleased with my TrendNet -- but one warning... If I have my cheapest mouse attached, and only 1 PC turned on, the mouse only moves one-way... (horizontally, iirc) Turn a second PC on, and everything works fine.
I swapped out my new cheapo 2oz generic mouse with my 10 year old, 1/2lb Microsoft mouse -- and IT works fine with just one PC on. Just a word of caution if you think you're going to be using a kvm with only 1 computer turned on.

Software KVM.....hmmmm....there are also plenty of VNC variants around. Simple, and easy to use.

Waterskier1,

Yes, the Zonet KVM3004 does come with 4 sets of KVM cables. Here's a Link to the manufacturer's site.

Soo not true! Or do I just have poor luck with KVM's?

I have one of these Zonet KVM

Works great very nice molded cables.

One thing I have not found is a KVMS, where the S stands for speakers. It would be nice if they made them to transfer the same set of speakers as well.

I have bought DVD's from them and while it took a little while for them to ship (5 days) everything else went fine.
