40-2 BF3 JET Round

I attempt to play a kill efficient jet round in BF3 without using 3rd person view. I feel 3rd person view does not belong in a FPS game. It takes away the realism and feels cheap so I never use it.

Nice round -- I can barely keep jets and helis in the air so always nice to see a perspective from somewhere other than the ground. Also, I enjoyed that the video didn't feature an overbearing dubstep/thrash metal soundtrack -- much more enjoyable to just listen to the sounds of the game.

I can't believe the tank hit you at the very beginning of the round. Usually when I see other tanks or am gunning in a tank where the driver of tank is firing main gun at aircraft I just sigh -- first time I've ever seen a hit.

Yes, I did see that thread but it's called "FAQ & News" and I did not think my content fit under either of those categotries

Yes, BF3 could use a lot more "realism" and that fact was a let down to me after the release but I have gotten over it, mostly, and enjoy the game for what it is.

Yes, it was my fault for approaching it at such a low angle but it was a great shot especially given the full 14 rocket volley and machine gun fire I unleashed on it - a jet firing on you is very disorienting in the tank. It was a nice shot on his part!

I watched the first few minutes and wasn't impressed. You were only painted one time in the 3 minutes I watched. It was an under populated map with no one using much, if any, anti-aa.

Anyone can do great against stationary targets who don't fire back. Try that against a skilled mobile AA unit and you will either be 1) shot down or 2) ineffective the whole match as you will constantly be looking to get out of range.

It isn't that I don't believe you were on a 64 player server, or that some AA went after you at certain points. It has more to do with the obvious fact (battle report would indicate this) that the fight was one sided.

So, most likely how this works out is you start the match, server pop is below 64 for a good portion of the map, fills up before the end with people on the losing side leaving, quitting, etc...

Just because I wasn't impressed doesn't mean I think you are a bad player, or don't have any skills. Just that servers vary heavily and people can easily go from 20:1 kill ratios to 1:1 with a server switch where they are on the bad side, or against skilled players.

The choppers are much tougher to enjoy and do well in especially compared to BF2. I think I have a long way to go there and also in BF3 to do well in the chopper you either have to have the other team's air not pay much attention to you or have a good jet pilot on your side covering for you.

lol I bet. I NEVER do well in the transport helis, it's been pretty rare for me to actually have a dedicated squad to gun and repair.

You're good man, just messin with ya. Their AA was all over the place and got us a few times, but their jets were meh. Once I hear the bullets start flying it's normally pretty easy to dodge em

Vehicles are OP by design in most cases. I enjoy them! I'm working on a Tank Tips Video that I hope to post soon.

Typically the only people that post their youtube crap around here are the people that are just posting their vids to generate click revenue and use these forums are a driver for that revenue. Historically, the moderators would shut these down rather quickly once reported.

Especially since you specifically state you WILL be posting other mostly random videos, well, congratulations - you're the first person that will be earning money on the back of Anand for free.

We used to post our gameplay videos in the BF3 thread. People post random youtube videos in all the subforums.

Well, I hope my videos are not "crap" :\. That is part of the reason I posted one of them - I want to hear feedback from a more technically minded audiance and improve them.

As for me making "revenue", I only started recording and uploading 8 days ago and gameplay videos such as the one I posted don't make money.

My desire is to contribute to this forum's community and the gaming community in general. I plan to post tutorials and some more technical videos rather than just gameplay. I have googled how to build a PC (did it 3 times so far), game issues, things I wanted to improve on in games, etc. in the past. I often found answers and helpful links on these forums. So, posting good content here also brings trafic here.

For the videos I have posted on my channel thus far, I used MSI Afterburner. It's free with no limitation on video length or quality.

I have Kingston HyperX SSD for the OS and games and an older Vel. Raptor 10000 RPM that I recorded on.

My native resolution is 1680/1050 on a 120Hz monitor. As far as settings in MSI AB , 16:9 ratio 720p, 50 -60 FPS, 90-95% quality.
