BestBuy is having a deal with TIVO - along with the $150 MIR from TIVO, BestBuy is throwing in a 3-month subscription card for free. Also, use the coupon from this thread to get an additonal 10% off.

You have to commit to a full year of service from TIVO for the MIR to work. The 3-month service just goes towards that, so you just pay for the remaining 9-months.

Also, just make sure you tell your BestBuy (or Magnolia) sales rep to "double dip" with the coupon and the promotion they have going (free 3-months service). They will just have to say it's a price match, so the system will accept the 10%.

They do use the same rebate. $10 more for 3 months free service out of 12 from BB. Hotter than the Amazon deal.

Yea, but BB gives you free 3-month service (a $38.85 value). So, if you go thru best buy, you actually make about $8.85 (before taxes).

$30 (before taxes) for your TIVO from the deal above.
- $38.85 (for 3-months of free TIVO)
----------
- $8.85 (you make $$)

but that probably gets lost in taxes (5% sales tax = $9) . Which is still fantastic, because you get your TIVO for free!

What I want to know is, can you use the 3 months, then get a lifetime sub to fulfill the requirement, or do they FORCE you to be monthly for a year...

Can you use the free service indefinitely? Oops, nevermind, read the first post more carefully and realize you have to go with full year for rebate.

Yeah, but then after that you need to keep the service otherwise the Tivo won't work from my understanding.
