You could probably get away w. a decent 480W PSU unless U have a DFI MoBo then that OCU PS becomes mandatory with exception if U want to go SLI because then U want a PCPnC 500+ or a OCZ Powerstream 600.

Is that a nF4 MoBo???

You could always go with a Powerstream 420 instead... it puts out something like 30A on the 12V.. and it's a pretty good quality PSU. not as good as PCP&C, but damn good.

Get the 450W Fortron. It's the best PSU for the money, and Fortron power supplies are really strong and reliable.

Are you sure this would be a good buy?

The 450watt Forton will be plenty. People thinking 500watt is mandatory for this rig need to quick blowing crack smoke at their monitors. It clouds their only view on life.

I have used the same card and mobo you have this week with an Antec TruePower 430W, ThermalTake 480W, and Coolermaster 430W PSU units, they all showed steady lines in mobo monitor (though that wasn't during anything uber intensive). Currently running a Fortron BLuestorm 500W. (rig was for a buddy for mines)

For $50 I'd get the Fortron. It's probably better than anything else posted here in this thread, and cheaper too.

Should be OK with 400w but it depends on what othercomponents you have also.

Get an OCZ psuu..420 420 Modstream perhaps.

I run the rig in my sig on an old 431W enermax. I think its about $65 on newegg now. I paid I think $95 way back in the day.

Should be fine. I mean, your vid card will use maybe 10 or 20W more at full load than the X800 I use. I also run 5HDs that eat away at my 12V rail.

You should be fine.

Well if U have enough to spring for a 7800... Lets just say that if I could pay that much for graphics I would not try to save 20-50$ on the PSU... Thats buying trouble. Id say Fortron at your price preferences and the go with the Blue Storm 500+

Is the Fortron a single rail or dual rail? I recommend single, so Modstream 420 works. Bluestorm = POS so don't consider it. I would get a Modstream or Antec over it anyday.

Yea if you want cheap PSUs, Fortron works, but remember voltage regulation isn't their strong point.

Fortron PSU's are top of the line, second only to like PC Power and Cooling...
