400gb seagate $89 fry's

i know this is at BM locations. i'm not sure about the website.

they have the Seagate 400GB Serial ATA/300 Hard Drive for $89, for the wend/thurs deal, so it ends today.

if anyone picked these up, is it the 7200.9 or 7200.10 version?

awww i got one, but i guess i'll return since its only a 7200.9 and not a 7200.10

Difference between the singapore one and china one is that the china one ships with a louder motor, makes more of a clatter noise too. (AS version vs NS version)

The 500GB retail rebadged Seagate (the Maxtor) is on sale for $100 (free shipping) online:

Others are reporting this is a 7200.10.


The bare drives were available for that price in-store last night but not the retail drives. I'm not sure if the online deal can be bought in-store. I'll check tonight if I'm not too tired after work.


Edit: The 500GB retail Maxtors in the Redondo Beach Fry's are still at $169. I guess I'll buy it online...
