Staples has a Maxtor 40G 5400 HD for $79 and Candyne? 32x CDRW drive for $79 also.

$79 + $79 - $30 (HD rebate) - $50(CDRW rebate) - $30 coupon = $50.

Is this hot? I got one set for myself.

This is a great deal...Staples is very good about getting rebates back...at least for me the have been...COMPUSA is another story, still awaiting my Radeon 8500 rebate from 3 months ago and four phone calls ago...wont buy from them again if there is a rebate.

Try search the coupon code off google.... no coupon here in this forum.

And yes, Staples rebates are so quick that just like no rebates.

hi again. I did the search, found one, but even though the coupon code stated it was valid, when i entered it on the order form, Staples said it expired. I have everything in my cart, could you email me the link for the code, or send me the code number...

hot hot hot! staples coupons really are prompt and if you can't find the coupon, search for "$30 coupon staples" on google and go a few pages down...maybe 3 or 4...i just found one that works....

Be advised: Cendyne $50 rebate just showed up from a deal in May (8 weeks), more than a month after all the other rebates arrived.

Did a similar deal but used a 40 off 200 coupon (on a $201 order).
486568 Philips 100 CDR blanks 29.94 - 20Mfr, with a possible second $20 rebate through staples.
912123 $2.90 surge strip, clearance so YMMV
Plus $7.50 for some supplies I needed.
There are some other rebate items you could use for padding your order. Getting 40G, a burner, 100 blanks cds etc., $10 of other items for $60 & tax.

The 40 GB at staples can be got for 34.98 using the 15 off 75 coupon and the CDRW can be got at office max for 9.99 using the 10 off 50.

Total 44.97 and less tax.

I couldn't get the Cendyne CDRW at Office Max and the Maxtor 40GB 5400 HD isn't so hot. For $59.96 more you can get a Maxtor 80GB 7200 RPM Hard Drive. The deal:
482877 CenDyne 32x12x40 CD-RW Internal Drive $79.98 and 471535 Maxtor 80GB 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive $149.98 = $229.96 -$ 40.00 Coupon = $189.96 - MIR: $ 80.00 = $109.96 + tax & postage. PM when using coupon is too much of a hassle. This deal can probably be beat too. Just wait.

8/29 Staples finally received my rebate submission, a month after I mailed it.

According to their status on the website, the UPC i sent in is invalid for the rebate offer!

I don't see how that can be as I sent it in the day I received the drive, and there was no other drive to mix it up with!

Anyhow, I called their rebate CSR # and got it resolved.

For info, the UPC # that I sent in was 751921026333, according to their system, the appropriate one for this rebate is 751921 026422

Notice its only the last 3 digits that have changed. I suspect either maxtor puts out more than 1 UPC for this product (depending which drive is actually inside the box), or who ever entered the info into their database in the first place had the wrong information.

ymmv, but if its the latter thats the case, then they'll have thousands of upset customers. (which would hopefully raise a flag that something is wrong)
