42 inch Plasma-$849+tax @ Costco!

Well first off it is no where on the Costco website, so it might be too new. It is about $300 off MSRP, so that is a plus.

I hooked it up just this afternoon(Fathers Day) and am thus far blown away. I went from a 32 inch Westy LCD(bang for the buck) to this and couldn't be happier atm.

With that said, everything says there is two component inputs on the Maxent website, but there is only one. The settings seem a little blah at the moment, but I will try and fine tune them shortly.

As for ghosting and color bleed, I'm yet to see them with fluid moving games, but I saw a little bit in Rainbow Six Vegas when turning really fast while there was bright lighting.

If anyone else jumps on this or has already jumped please give your thoughts. Not saying this is the best deal around, but it sure ain't bad if you need a 42 inch flat panel hdtv(yes ota tuner) for just under $930 after tax.

It is a 1080i, 720p set. It is able get a 1080p signal, but can't display it right.

I've heard that some Maxtents plasmas are actually Panasonic screens. That might be what you got. If so - HOT DEAL!

I looked at this yesterday and what I thought made it hotter is it comes with the extended costco 2 year warranty setup program($79 value) for $849. Was gonna buy 2. One for the living room and one for the bedroom. Havent seen to many reviews any other input from anybody?

They also have another 42" Maxent for $899 with similar specs. I didn't spend a lot of time comparing, but this seems like more bang.

I was just at a local electronics store and told the salesperson kinda what I was looking for
ie: price bargain , size ratio and the best he could come up with is $1150. True it was 1080p but I said I was looking for a bargain. Then eplained it was a maxent (who?) from costco for $849 with 2 year exteneded warranty. Well you get wht you pay for, true but it my case costco has excellent return and warranty. Any opinions on maxent quality?

Actually neither of the tv's listed on the website atm are the tv i purchased. Nor is the one linked up there it either. Nor is the one that is being said it is 799.

I've been to two local Seattle Costco's and only one had it, the one in Kirkland. It is an all black bezel, it is part of their newer line. It does have a beautiful HD/480p picture.

I'm not saying this is the best tv out there, the sound just sucks, but the screen itself is beautiful. I came from a 32 inch lcd from westinghouse and thus far couldn't be happier I made the switch. I see no ghosting when playing xbox 360 games thru component, the only "problem" i saw was when playing rainbow six vegas in the opening cut flying into Vegas, there was motion blur when looking around at the lights, but I think it is a game mechanic, as it was the same on my dell 20 inch ultrasharp, the same on my crt, and the same on my old lcd.

Maxent is in the same boat as westinghouse atm. They don't do anything for advertisement, they buy what they can for cheap and make a tv. They try and use parts from major manufactuers when they can. What they make on each panel is divided between profit/R&D, since there isn't much advertising needed to be done.

Fine tuning my picture settings was a pain too though. Took me an hour to find what i wanted for each view(tv, movie, video games), but like i said, I couldn't be happier with the results.

I will take pictures if people want me to and post them a lil later.

So far forthe price and extended warranty thats my best bet. Im going to look at a samsung 42" for a similar price later today.
