420 watt power supply fufil requirements for bfg 6800Ultra oc?

It says minimum of 480 power supply on the site/packaging so i'm afriad to ruin anything by hooking it up, ive got 2 sata power hdds and a dvdrw hooked up to it too.. and just a the silent pure power 420 that came with my xaser.. will this work without problems on the 6800ultra oc I have.

alot of the molex connectors are simply not connected to anything.. I just have to 2 sata wd 10k rpm'rs (using sata power) and a molex in my dvdrw (as well as mobo power connected as well) I still have many free molex connectors..

yes it will be fine, ive seen the 6800u's run on antec 300watts

What brand and model is the PS...good quality powersupply's should be able to hold it.

A 420watt Powmax or generic ps will have trouble.

What is the amperage on the PSU? Anything 18+ should be more than fine.

A good quality 350W power supply with a sufficient 12V rail pull can support the 6800 Ultra standard clocks of 400/550.

As long as the power supply design is robust, we?ve seen that standard 350W power supplies are sufficient for running the GeForce 6800 Ultra. 350W will be the new specification.

this stupid NVidia PSU wattage rating thing is really getting on my nerves.
you absolutely do not need that much power for a freaking videocard... how lame of them.
I would plug that card into any one of my PC's in my house and expect it to work perfectly fine.
and they are ranging from 300-500W PSU's in my house.
