<< If any of you wan't I'll fire it up and give voltages and such against the 300 Antec I have. >>

Thanks for the photos. If you could get some voltage numbers that would be great (the more power supplies we can gather info from the better).

To anyone who has received the CWT420 I have two more questions besides the voltage:
1) How heavy is the power supply?
2) What is your general impression of the fans (noise, air flow, material quality, etc.)??

A couple interesting observations: The box that it comes in quotes the power as in the CWT-420 review the sticker states different. Box It does feel .3 pounds lighter than the Antec 300 watt. The transformers don't look as large as the Antec. The capacitors in the Antec are larger than the ones in the Turbolink by a little (larger with my Ennermax 350watt also). The capicators are what is used to smooth out the voltage and act as a buffer to handle surges and voltage dips and such. The voltage regulator transistors are a smaller package than the Antec, meaning the Antec is probably beefier. The heatsinks on the Antec have fins to help disipate the heat. The Turbolink is a chunk of bent aluminum. The Trubolink has 5 large molex connectors and 2 small ones, the Antec has 7 large molex and two small ones. There are extra power connectors for PIV and server board on the Turbolink. I am sure they went with two fans in lue of larger components. The voltages seem to remain stable at 100% load (5 cycles of the SiSoft Sandra burn-in test). I set the AXIA T-Bird 1000 at 1400 Mhz for the test. (Shuttle AK31A)

300 Watt Antec
CPUcore 1.68v
+3.3v 3.34v
+5v 4.87v
+12v 11.86v
-12v -11.62v
-5v -5.00v
+5v stnd 4.92v

CWT420 420 Watt Turbolink
CPUcore 1.68v
+3.3v 3.25v
+5v 4.89v
+12v 11.86v
-12v -11.62v
-5v -5.15v
+5v stnd 4.95v

So only time will tell. Seems stable so far and is running cool to the touch. Those fans move alot of air. Noiser than the Antec PP303X also.
It is not as heavy or good quality as my Antec PP303X or my Ennermax EG365P-VE. it's, well more like an OEM. lol

LOL Thanks for the info, todays. That was quick.

If the power supply is lighter than the Antec 300W then it certainly isn't even close to the quality the Antec 400W. Too bad.

Wife walks in and says "why's your machine so loud"

On a second note, the're back down to $39 - Alot of people must have canceled. I would say that the Enhance 300 watt (loud) at Newegg for $29 or the Sparkle 300 watt for $34 would be a better deal and they are AMD approved for the 2000+

I think I will put my Antec PP-303X (AKA CWT-300ATX-A Channel Well) back into my machine and save this one for a back-up.

In all fairness though, the Antec has a .03v drop on the +5v line to 4.84v at 100% load and the Turbolink didn't budge weather it was 100% or no load. (it's just loud)

I have gone ahead and put my order through... I need a larger ps... One question. Why is it loud? Is it the fans? If so I might just replace them.

The noise is the fans. I'm sure they are there to compensate for the smaller parts. (Heat) Sort of like overclocking a powersupply by putting bigger fans on it. The weight is a good is a good indicator of a good powersupply.

Do you know what size fans they are so I can get some ready? I think I have a week before mine gets here

I cancelled, not what I was looking for. Too bad it was off to a good start by the descriptions.

Looks like everyone is jumping ship now. I cancelled yesterday afternoon and went with the Antec pp352x for the same price. Honestly, I don't really think the Turbolink would have been a problem but I prefer not to leave too much to chance, especially when overclocking.

Ouch. From Resellerratings it appears that Openlinx is horrible at handling returns. Hopefully this will work out better since they clearly screwed up. Good luck.

csaddict just refuse the shipment when it arrives.

<< I called Openlinx and was told I could refuse shipment and be reimbursed. He also said he made a mistake by not putting on his site at first that it is a Channel Well made specifically for Turbolink. He gave me the number for ASPIRE INT'L CORP which uses the Turbolink brand name. There website is Link
I talked to a girl named Elise and she said these are made for them by Channel Well but the reason they are sold cheaper is because under the Turbolink name they are not AMD approved. She said they have just in the last couple of months began selling these in retail boxes. If you check on their website you will see that they use these power supplies in a "Antec 1040 clone case". According to her they have a one year warranty.

That's right refuse shipment and send Openlinx an email explaining why. I will notify American Express that I have done so.
I was one of the guys who got a $30 digital certificate from Best Buy for the Geforce4 fiasco. So I picked up a Antec PP352X at my local B&M.
$59 - $30 (certificate) = $29+tax.

I can live with 350W.

I ordered t and am not cancelling.

The +3.3, +5 & +12 rails look excellent....the -5 & -12 are for feedback, not powering system - I don't see the reason for the panic.

There have been plenty of inferior power supplies posted on this forum with less negativity.

I've been using it now for a couple days and I'm satisfied thoroughly with it. System specs below. I kept a multimeter hooked up to the +5v and at idle it sits at 5.07 . Running 3DMark or intensive gaming it never dropped below 5.01 .

XP333-R
Athlon 1900 OC'd to 1740mhz LOCKED still
Copper HS with 38cfm fan - LOUD!
Radeon 8500 OC'd to 301/301
Crucial 256mb 2100 DDR jan batch - Ultra 2@145
2 IBM 75 gxp drives in Raid 0 - I've been running these in raid on my old KT-7 board for about 18 months no problems
1 WD 60gb 7200 rpm drive.
Plextor CDRW
Afreey 12x DVD
2 Case fans
2 Radio Shack 28cfm fans
Steel full tower old Gateway case.

I did cancel, for reasons above (and I also wanted something quiet).

Anyway, you might change the thread title back, if it's still a decent 420W PS. Didn't openlinx lower their price again? And that other place still has it for $38. So it's not really a dead deal. (Just don't put in the Antec/Sparkle thing.)

Just refused UPS shipment today. Before he left I weighed it on a postal scale. With packaging it came to 58 oz. My new Antec PP352X weighs in at 53 oz. without any packaging. Mind you there was very little packaging on the turbolink. The shipping box is barely larger than the powersupply. Actually I expected it to weigh less from what has been posted here.
BTW, anyone interested in the Antec dual fan PP352X, I can tell you it looks extremely well engineered. It has a 92 mm fan on top and a 80mm on back. I can see huge capacitors and large finned heatsinks inside.

Well just got mine and installed it, I have to say Im overerly satisfied with the PSU, I defintly dont think it is an Antec after lifting it up, this thing is really light :-/ Also I would like to add as not mentioned by the few that actually have this PSU it really was not made for a tower case, I have a Apex full tower and the ATX plug in cable barly reaches the Mobo, also there arent many power leads coming off the PSU, so you will need a few Y adaptors if you use lots of drives and lots of fans (one of the reasons for having a 420 PSU) but for $39 Im not bitc*'n
