Sunday I applied CLU between IHS and the CPU die on my delided 4690k and MX2 between IHS and the heatsink. Before I used MX2/MX2.
Settings = 4.6ghz CPU @ 1.293v, cache = 4.3ghz @ 1.225v, ram = 2200mhz @ 1.47v. Heatsink = Coolermaster Hyper 212+ Evo with base lapped to 2000 grid sandpaper mirror finish + stock fan.
Undelid + MX2
Idle = 27-31c across cores
Gaming = 63-69c across cores
Prime95 28.5 Blend = 83-85c across cores
Prime95 28.5 Small = 105c and then instant shut down.
MX2/MX2
Idle = 25-28c across cores
Gaming = 60-65c across cores
Prime95 28.5 Blend = 74-75c across cores
Prime95 28.5 Small = 93-96c across cores
CLU/MX2
Idle = 25-27c across cores
Gaming = 53-55c across cores
Prime95 28.5 Blend = 63-66c across cores
Prime95 28.5 Small = 83-85c across cores
Are these normal temperatures with CLU/MX2? I applied a very small drop on the CPU die, brush it carefully and spread it out with the provided tools.
