i don't see the point in arguing over it, really. in the end it's pointless as all of us are dead, some sooner than others. there really is no point in trying to figure out 'life's meaning' or when the world will end, because the end is coming soon enough to everyone. enjoy your life, while it lasts, and don't try to figure things out which cannot be found out.

What difference does it make? No one can predict the end of this world. Not you, not I, and certainly not the ICR. Your &quot;factual&quot; backing has more holes than swiss cheese. You're not going to convince a bunch of empiricists with a such an unconvincing theory.

I find that it's best to let people find God on their own and for themselves. Each of us is capable of doing so. Thanks to unique and varied viewpoints, God means different things to different people. Trying to &quot;scare&quot; people into a belief in God by quoting the bible is a recipe for failure. I know you're just trying to help, but faith in God because you're frightened of the alternative is not true faith, IMHO.

For the record, I don't believe the world is coming to an end. I just believe that we're on the verge of a major reorganization of society (or breakdown) as we know it. I'm sure if you had asked the Romans if their empire would fall, they would have never believed it. Yet today, we know that they not only succumbed but completely disappeared due to internal strife, outside conquerors, climate change, and plague. And it wasn't in a matter of time. If you look at the history books, they (the western empire) virtually disappeared in a very quick way, almost overnight.

I don't feel that people should be afraid that the world could change. We all know from history that nothing remains the same. What once was is no more. What is now will not last as well. People change, the world changes. In fact, the only constant we can count on through time is change. &quot;Make your time&quot; as others have suggested because sooner or later, all things will be new (or different) once again.

Umm, if god is all powerful and can create all these earthquakes and strife, then why doesn't he just materialize in a form where we can see him, and in a form where we could not mistake him for anything else, and TELL US THAT HIMSELF? Sure seems a lot easier to me than creating earthquakes and hoping all of us tiny little specks get a clue
