Crime rates involving gun owners with carry permits have consistently been about 0.02%
of all carry permit holders since Florida’s right-to-carry law started in 1988.

It must make gun control advocates feel really good to think they are going after .02% of crime.

Which has what to do with someone being able to buy a gun in CA?

Ah, thought you were making a different point. Yeah it's relatively easy to get a gun in CA, you just have to deal with less selection (due to the bullshit drop test), essentially zero carry rights at this point, and the 10 rd mag limit, among many other pieces of feel-good red tape. But yeah, you can own a gun.

I don't really understand why a lot of liberals still cling to the anti-gun stuff. I'm talking about actually being opposed to citizens owning guns, not the sensible restrictions like registration.
There is nothing sensible about gun registration. Please try to explain how a gun being registered will magically stop bullets fired from it from killing some one? Does it put some kind of shield on it?

Those are the people that should not have firearms.
Ahh, you mean liberals? They have no issue with using guns in video games or using guns in movies or TV (shown to protect people), but in real life they expect people to roll over and take it in the ass from criminals.

While sales have gone up the people that know how to properly use a gun have gone down. If I see one more person walking around with the safety off or holding a gun near the trigger guard when handing a weapon to someone I might start joining the anti-gun crowd !

Can't believe when asking someone " did you clear the chamber ? " they responded "how do you do that ?"
Again, I blame the liberal media. They show people in movies and TV all the time walking around with their finger on the trigger, because carrying a gun "looks cool". Watch shows like Top Shot or Sons of Gun and you see people that are correctly trained demonstrating proper gun safety.

A lot of the articles I've seen they like to point out how the person with the gun must have had some sort of military training. Look there, you see how he has his finger on the trigger guard straight out like he's pointing it? That means he had some military training.

I hold many liberal positions. I like my pistol very much thank you. Nothing wrong with law abiding citizens having them as long as they treat the weapon with respect and know how to be safe.

I just remembered this:

Bullet Control.

Well, the 1% is buying too, and paying the 2-15% to protect them from the other 85%, who can barely afford two guns and a few bullets.

But hey, who's counting..

a few hundred million throwing stones goes a long way.

Add me to the list... I ordered a Palmetto State Armory M4-V on Cyber Monday. Hopefully I will have it next week.

Already own a S&W .22, S&W 9MM, and Taurus Judge 3" chamber .45C/410.

Sounds like you enjoyed your prison stint.

That is one of the most retarded things I have read here in a long time.

You can legally own enough guns to shoot 10 people and kill 3. Should be enough to defend your property.

Come to California. The only people who have guns here are the gang bangers. If you own guns you're seen as a crazypersonpsychoticmurdererserialkiller.

Pic related, it's the reason that everyone thinks I'm crazy :awe:

What cute little magazine you have there.

The "shield" is that when you know the government knows you are the owner of the gun, you aren't going to use it to commit crimes.

It is neither "the impending class war/riots" (do you really believe that nonsense?) nor "the economy causing this." It is a function of the fact that many gun enthusiasts believe, despite no evidence to the contrary, that President Obama will take some action to limit gun rights. Despite President Obama doing no such thing at any time, the underlying idea seems to be that as a lame-duck President in a second term he might change his course.

This is strictly an emotional reaction, in that a) President Obama has never demonstrated any inclination he might actually try to limit gun rights; and b) there is no way any gun control measure would make it through our current Congress. That being said, it's a good way for the NRA and the gun industry to get people whipped up, and thus infuse money into the gun industry in an economy which has left many American strapped for disposable income. I find it curious that people act so emotionally, en masse, for no clear reason, but that's human nature.

That you blame this entirely on unfounded fears about Obama is unsupportable and something you just made up all by yourself.

People are concerned about the economy, about Europe's problems, unsustainable state/county/local budgets, unfunded pension/retirement obligations etc. Recently, I've been surprised about some of the people who have raised to me the idea of purchasing a gun because of these type fears. I"m talking about educated, intelligent, successful people mature types, not fringe types.

I sense a creeping concern that we will have some sort of collapse where ordinary services like water and electricity may cease to be readily available.

There are plenty of stories out there about how small survivalist e-stores are really growing etc. It's not a concern about Obama grabbing guns. It's more a concern about govt and society's failure.

Yeah, seems low to me also, but it's a poll and it must be totally accurate.

I'm pretty happy to tell any yahoo or clown that calls me on the phone if there's any valuables in my house, where they're located and when we won't be home.

Exactly.

Guns are one of the most popular target for people who steal. To talk about the guns in your house is like talking about that big stash of cash you keep.

And in the end regardless of any other arguments, the gun was invented with the purpose to kill other human beings.

When was it they figured out guns were pretty handy for shooting 'food'?

I would've thought hunting would be primary reason since we need food several times a day. How often do we have the need of a gun to shoot people?

You need guns to shoot people when you're in a constant state of war like Europe used to be.
