It's sad that in recent years the quality of Anandtech's reviews have been going down, this review is one of the worst I have read, and I've been reading Anandtech for over 10 years.

I like the XBit Labs review so informative and complete. Their reviews are the best for me in general, even though they can be slow sometimes at putting them up.

Anyways the 4770 is a very nice card for the price, anyone planning on building a budget gaming system then the 4770 seems like the best choice.

So long HD4850, we hardly knew thee.

No reason to pay $30 more for a card that is only 2-4 FPS faster in a few games, gets beat in other games and even in some games that it has higher average FPS, loses in the minimum FPS category.

This is terrible. I want a card with the reference exhaust cooler! Not that odd cooler all the newegg models have

Looks like all of the reviews are maxing out CCC at 830MHz when they try to overclock. I'd like to see what can be done once some software shows up without the 830MHz limit.

I think in general Anandtech's reviews are on par and good quality. yes this one is little low on quality probably they rushed it out the door but to generalize to all recent reviews would be untrue.

Looks ATI has another winner on their hands. Great price for those on a budget and fantastic performance as well.

personally I think $110 too high for this card. 4850 is selling at 90AR this weekend at the egg. gtx250 was selling at 100AR not long ago. this cards needs to be at about 80/85 to be hot seller howadays. not to say it's bad, but the fact is the prices are falling now. I think the best deal was the gtx 260-216 for $155 last week from egg I believe. that's a lot of card for the cash.

actually this one that's onsale at egg isn't bad either: 4870/512 for 140AR

It's a romanian review, but it looks pretty good. Crossfire scaling seems amazing with these cards.

The scaling in the 1680x1050 WIC benchmark seems downright implausible. A single 4770 gets 28FPS, and the CF setup gets a whopping 73FPS. I'm guessing they messed up their test somehow, or mixed up numbers.

How are your 4850 prices? For US customers, Newegg's got a $90 4850 which is a much better value than any 4770 price I've seen.

Quoted from article : "Si daca tot vorbeam de scalare excelenta in Crossfire, aici vedem deja scalare atat de buna incat pare dubioasa. Adica, o placa video obtine 28fps si doua obtin 73fps ?"

Translated: " And if we were speaking of excellent scaling in Crossfire, here we're seeing such a good scaling that it seems fishy. I mean , a videocard obtains 28fps while two obtain 73 fps?"

So, maybe they've mixed something up, or, maybe the scaling is amazing.

Best 4770 price I've found, $90 after MIR. But it is a pre-order.

Personally I would get the 4770 over the 4850 due to it performing better in CoH since that is about the only PC game I play, plus less power under load.

So you have two of them. Maybe you can make a couple of single card, dual cards benchies and see how it does scale. Let's see if the crossfire scaling is that amazing after all.

That Xbit labs review was really complete and thorough.

They also said this card only uses 47 watts under full 3D load. (Plus the die size is actually smaller than the 4670).

I wonder why ATI included a 6-pin Power connector?

It looks like those guys are getting a really good jump in performance (relative to the Xbit labs review) with the large memory overclock.

P.S. Do you think this card is a glimps of what HD5870 will bring? It seems that 1200 shader @900 Mhz 256 bit DDR5 rumor is aimed at keeping die size realitively small.
