Its back I saw it in the ads.
Jokersmoker had this last week with free shipping, I checked the web site 10/19/02 8:00 am and they are still $24.99 with free shipping.

Tomorrow when the ad starts maybe there will be free shipping.

Ugh! I have too many batteries from this deal!

If anyone is wondering: These are actually pretty good batteries. No, of course they aren't on the Duracell or Energizer level. But then again, they cost about 1/5th as much. They're not so great for high-drain devices like cameras, but for remotes and clocks and things they're great, and you can't beat the price.

They have 20 packs of these batteries at Fry's for $2 after $3 MIR. I picked up two packs yesterday.

Worth mentioning while we're on the topic.....

All those independent tests that compare batteries have found that Costco in-house (assuming Kirkland brand?) batteries have tests results remarkably, AND I mean REMARKABLY, similar to Duracell, as if they were actually the same brand....

While on the subject of batteries, anyone know any cheap place to get a universal AC Adapter cheap for like Portable CD Players? On the OEM AC Adapter/Charger, are those just AC Adapters with the charging mechanism built into the actual Portable CD Player's electronics?

These batteries work pretty well. Didn't feel any noticeable difference in longevity between them and my Duracells. Circuit City used to have 20packs of these for free, 99 cents, and $1.99 after rebate. Hvaen't seem them do that in a while though.

You can get one at Radio Shack and maybe walmart.

They come with adjustable voltage and different ma and have 12 or so different end jacks on them. You need to know what ma you want. I recently bought a 3v to 12v 300 ma.

Try viewing the weekly ad.. then go to the portable electronics section. At the bottom the 48pack is listed and it shows at $9.99.. you can click Buy from there to get them online.

Just ordered a pack also. Free shipping means I can sit on my ass and watch football all day without having to make a trip to the store. Had to pay $0.60 in tax...

Gee,did you do well in math?
FYI,my mother worked for 25 years in a battery factory. They made AA and AAA cells. The company shipped them to the other top brand companies.unlabled of course. They inturn recieved C,D and 9 volt from the other companies. So,in truth most makes ARE the same cells! I can't say if Maxell is one of these, but I am sure they do the same thing!

Got a pack too, thanks.
It is a fairly good price and the free shipping pushes it over the edge.
Maybe someone can explain why 9 volt batteries are so expensive, I hardly ever see them for less than $2 each

Except Radio Shack isn't cheap since it's $13. I mean it seems stores like Walgreens don't even sell stuff like this. There isn't any Walmart in San Francisco so any mail order places?

Actually, it's even less than a quarter per battery:

I paid $9.99 + $.75 tax = $10.74

10.74 / 48 = $.22 a battery

Now that's a HOT deal.
