Yeah, the Sapphire and ASUS stickers are kind of annoying. The PowerColor, maybe surprisingly, I don't really mind (it's the one with the girl in the armor swinging a sword, kind of reminds of Aribeth from NWN1). But yeah, I'm sure the marketing folks assume only guys buy video cards, and they adjust their marketing tactics accordingly. The Palit frog is sort of cute though...but I still don't want him plastered across my video card.

As far as the VT thing, yeah I should know better than to utter Virginia Tech's name, in any form . I think someone else started the trend of refering to VisionTek by their initials, and I'm lazy so I followed suit.

Maybe because the aftermarket coolers don't have a whole frackin' plastic shroud covering the heatsink fins, bottling up the heat inside? Course, if you get rid of the shroud, they'll have nothing left to put their stickers on .

Of all of the ones with sticker art on them, I think I like Asus' the best.

That said, I'm glad I don't have any sticker art on my visiontek card.

This card is absolutely amazing, but I know my 2.66ghz E8200 is holding it back. I may need to change into a different case than my lanbox lite if I want to push the cpu farther.

Yeah it was refreshing to see AMD launching a card that's semi-professional looking, but these add-in-board partners are totally ruining it. Especially Sapphire. Ugh. AMD's partners have alot to learn from NV's partners. Starting with the packaging. (Forget about warranty that's a long way to go)

I got a notification from Newegg yesterday evening about the Sapphire 4870 coming back in stock. I ordered it around 7PM PST, and they have the card listed as shipped already. I'll gladly give the egg an extra Hamilton for their no hassle/no BS service.

that is exactly why newegg is where they are and everyone else is still trying to catch up.
