BIOS + 32bit limitation? Still 4GB will still show up as 3GB+ typically.

I ordered 4 of the 1GB DDR2-800 sticks at the end of July. I emailed HP Rebate Center to ask them what to do about the Serial Number, which as you know the form asked for but was not printed on the outside of the packages. They replied (quickly, they were very prompt) saying that it was a typo, and not needed for RAM. I submitted the rebate a week later, and it was rejected - for not having serial numbers. Sigh. I called and explained, they said 'Sorry, just re-submit'. I re-photocopied everything, including printout of the email & response regarding the serial number question. In September I got another rejection - "Unfortunately however, we are unable to fulfill your request as submitted for the HP Q3 Bluethhoth(sic) PC Card Mouse Promotion, Offer #1023 mail-in rebate". Huh? I called again, explained, and was given the option of either emailing or faxing the paperwork. I emailed with scans of the 10 pages of documentation. Two weeks later I received the $160 rebate. I just want to say that in all my correspondence with HP Rebate Center (I also bought two HP 20" LCDs earlier this summer and got $100 rebate for those) they were very courteous and helpful, even though the whole process took close to 3 months.
