I was fixing to delete some searches I did on this memory, and noticed 2 reliable merchants (Office Depot clones) had it once again in stock online.

Original Price $61.95
Rebate Savings $40.00
Your price
After Rebate $21.95

Plus $10.15 ground shipped for 5 sticks (plus sales tax possibly where you live).

Not a bad deal at all for any that missed out on the first few deals!

I'm not OCing. Mine are going in a server board that has no OC ability whatsoever. However you can find info on other D9HNL chips via google. It sounds like they'll do quite nicely but not as amazing as better D9s.

For the curious they're going into a Supermicro PDSME+ alongside a cheapo Celeron (until more Core price drops). 2 4port PCI-X SATA2 cards, 6 500GB drives, running Linux with Windows VMWare images. Gotta go to my dad's and use the drill press on my case tho... WTF ever happened to standards?

I still can't get myself to pull the trigger

I do want 4 sticks tho

The only thing is, I purchased 4 gb about 2 months ago.

2 x 1gb Supertalents for $112ish

and Patriot 2 x 1gb for 99.99 shipped

Wish I waited on it instead of buying it earlier

Great deal--in for 5. For those worried about the rebate center's location (Puerto Rico), HP's financial operation has been in Puerto Rico for at least several years. I've received rebates on 12 HP LCD monitors ($40 each rebate) and 2 LaserJet Printers ($100 each) in the last 2 years--all promptly.

Part # AH058AT

FYI this has some info on what Smart Buy means... if anyone cares... http://www.hp.ca/promotions/sm..._Customer_desktops.pdf

at $31/gb, you can easily find other name-brand PC6400 sticks that come with heatspreader, and maybe even CAS 4. Several people mentioned that these HP PC5300 have Micron D9HNL chips. A quick search shows that they are not necessarily great overclockers, but don't seem to have any problem running at PC6400 and higher speed at 1.8-9 v.

You're talking about HP. When they can't get this exact module built to the exact same specs the part number does not get reused. You'll get what everyone else is getting, and you'll like it!
