Cost me 58 cents postage. I sent in copies of the ram, upc, boxes, and packing slip.
Don't forget to circle the price of the ram on the paper work!

Im trying the rebate + ram from http://www.amazon.com/gp/produ...alf%20Price%20Software
Which would equal free ram if it works. It's worth a shot.

:shocked:how anal are they going to be about this? i mean, if you've purchased only the ram, there will be only 1 type of item on the invoice, do you have to circle this one item?

I've got the Micron D9 sticks and been trying out the various tweaks and the following is booting up stably:
CPU: 2888.8MHz
Bus Speed: 321MHz
This is what I would expect since I set the CPU Bus Speed to 320MHz in BIOS.
However, I only set the RAM speed to 667MHz yet the Memory tab in CPU-Z states:
Frequency: 401.2MHz
FSBRAM 4:5
This is equivalent to DDR2-800, correct?
Does the RAM frequency scale up with the CPU/Bus speed?
I'd been trying to set RAM to 800MHz and it was failing to boot. If it does scale up with CPU speed, then it would make sense if others aren't getting much more than DDR2-800 and the RAM being set to 800MHz would scale it too far beyond DDR2-800.

NEED ADVICE...
I have a Dell E510 with a Pentium D 820 (2.8Ghz) with 1Gb RAM (512MB x2).
There are 2 open RAM slots
I checked the BIOS to get the details on the RAM sticks, and this is what it told me: 533Mhz, DDR2 SDRAM, Dual Interleaved, Unbuffered.
If I wanted to double the RAM capacity on my system to 2Gb, do I have to replace the two sticks I have now with two separate 1Gb HP sticks?
Or, can I just add a single 1Gb HP stick in one of the two open slots? Will that adversely affect performance?
Thanks in advance!

You can just stick 1GB HP stick into one of the open two slots; you'll lose dual channel capability, but you shouldn't notice any difference.

What processor are you using here?

Where are you guys checking your status?

I have done 5000 rebates over the last 10 years or so, and to date, I have never circled the purchase price and I have received every rebate except one. That was due to a bankruptcy by the way, and not due to a failure to circle the price.......
