Only problem with that is I am not exactly sure how you would file a class action law suit or get the FTC involved in a case where the rebate company is outside of US jurisdiction.

Oh that's easy. It's called, the rebate(s) are/were being offered by a US based company so they are liable to uphold the contract of the rebate. Let the company deal with the rebate center.

I sure hate the Post office policy of losing rebate mail at a much higher rate than other mail. How do they do that? Hmmmm.

Yeah, I got caught in that Soyo motherboard "lost rebate" thing. I got the Ontario (Calif) Police Dept.'s fraud division very interested, enthusiastic in fact, and my detective payed them a visit. I think that helped. Soyo "found" some of the missing rebate letters and emailed other to re-submit.

Since then, I get a Certificate of Mailing for an extra $1.05 at the post office. The PO puts a special stamping and sticker on the letter that may dissuade the rebate company from losing track of it. Recommended for the more valuable or iffy rebates, and cheaper than certified mail.

BTW, I just mailed my rebate for this. I don't think HP is down there with the Soyo bottom feeders, so don't sweat this rebate, circled or not.

Which would equal free ram if it works. It's worth a shot.

i shot that retailer an email asking them if they were an authorized HP reseller. i'm waiting for their response.
Oh, NO!
Those guys sent me 2 sticks without barcodes :| The stickers with serials are there, though. Could anyone post/e-mail/link/PM/whatever an image of the barcode? I don't need unique serial #'s (got those), just a generic barcode for this item?

Thanks!

Each stick was packed into plastic clamshell, sealed with HP "security" sticker. The module itself has both HP and Micron stickers.

Why didn't you just purchase the RAM through PCSuperStore? I have a feeling that the guys that sold it to you bought the memory from PCSuperStore, mailed in the rebate and then just mailed you the RAM sans box to make a huge profit.

Because you told me too late about that

Seriously, now I have 2 options:
1) Submit rebate with a "copy" of barcode
2) Return the sticks to merchant and bitch about that on Amazon marketplace

I'd rather go with (1). Any help is appreciated. Sarcastic comments are not

Waiting for the price to drop back down to $15.99AR. Not so hot at this price ($23.24AR) + tax. Looks like they have 10157 In Stock as of 7/20. Hope they'll be motivated to move all that inventory.

Fry's has some Crucial 1GB DDR2-667 on sale this week for $42-15=$27AR. Someone said the stick are identical to the ones from this deal, single sided Micron chips. Only thing is limit one, but the rebate amount is much smaller.

Did you ever write/call to ask about the status before you received it?

Got my check today. I was shortchanged $40. Shoulda been $200, got $160

I had purchased 5 sticks and submitted 5 seperate reabates all identical.

I was rebated for only 4 of the 5. Not worth the $40 to chase it but I am curious about some others that had purchased 5 sticks.

All 5 on one rebate, one envelope, $.41 stamp.

Got paid for 4 outta 5, I am fairly sure it was a clerical error

I would get in on this, but I really, really hate rebates with a passion. They seem to lose them so often and goof so many things up. They should just discount the damn item instead.
