This is my biggest issue too. I think a typical desk is too tall for this setup, and I end up just reclining my office chair a lot when gaming, even with the chair at the maximum height. Maybe one of those adjustable height desks or a taller chair would work better. I tend to only use the bottom 2/3 of the TV in Windows (which is still much bigger than a PC monitor).
why isnt your monitor on the wall with adjustable swivel? Nothing in my house is just sitting on a desk ;( except laptops i guess. And of course we have earthquakes here so its a bonus to not have a tv smash ontop of you.

Never heard of a monitor that is always left on, yea 16 seconds is a while maybe a remote on the wall when you enter the room? the TCL and samsung are way faster then the tv i had used before for start time (i would have the same issue seemed like forever to start) so turn it on and do something else before sitting heh. I wonder what kinda life span you would cut by leaving it on always.
I left my Acer 23" on all the time because it took ~14 seconds to turn on and it came out of low power state in a couple seconds. Took very little power in low power state. My experience has been that low power state does not affect the longevity of displays. That sort of thing is commonplace for computer monitors, but not TVs.

I leave my Avera 40" 4K powered up all the time. It "wakes" with a video signal. It does not auto-select based on video signal (thankfully!). That can be a royal PITA when you're rebooting a PC that you're working on, while another PC (your main PC) is attached to another input, and is still sending a signal.

My experience is if I leave this Avera (40EQX20, 2017 model) on after shutting down or suspending the PC it shows [NO INPUT] in a box that moves around the screen every few seconds. In that state it draws 95% of the power it drew with the PC on (which is about 47 watts). After less than 1/2 hour the TV powers OFF, period. No input signal will awaken it. I'm told that "less than 1/2 hour" may actually be around 15 minutes. I wasn't there to take note of exactly how long it takes to shut off. I saw a post by someone saying you can configure that shut-off time, but I haven't seen it in the menus. A low power state? I don't think it supports it.

Well, I don't know if the Avera actually implements any kind of low-power standby state, but my 2016 model, does that "moving box" thing, before finally powering off, but then when I move my mouse, and wake up the video output, it will automatically power-on, after a short delay, where it displays the logo and boots up again. (Maybe 10-15 secs?)

Works for me, at least.

I think I may have shorted the shut-down time box, it only does that for like 2-3 minutes.

I always disable the wake with mouse movement thing because I don't want my computers to waken with accidental mouse moves. I waken my laptops by opening the lids. Waken my desktops by pressing the power button, put them asleep by pressing the same button. No accidents!

I'm in an apartment building and not sure if I can do a wall mount. Something like this may be a good solution, although it would look ugly sitting behind my desk. I think if the TV screen was 6-8 inches lower, that would be perfect.
