This slow ass upload sh!t pisses me off. I have "high speed internet" but I can't send something to my buddy any faster than 128kbps. That's kind of stupid, IMHO, I'm glad SOMEONE is going in the right direction.

And let's not even get started on how badly things like Bit Torrent blow goats.

I agree.. I would have rather seen 2mbit /512 when i signed up.. But this is just the best of both worlds..

Does upload bandwidth cost more? Or do they think people just DON't need it?

I get 640k upload. Pretty sweet too considering I hit that mark almost everytime. DSL with Sympatico.

Lucky you - and $40 a month is quite good for that speed.
Paying $30 a month here for 2.4Mbit down (recently upped from 800kbps), but still only about 200kbit up. I'm just glad that we even have 2-way cable; we live in a pretty rural area.

BUT:

I have Verizon DSL 1500/384 which is great, (but obviously not as fast as yours) for only $32.50 a month. BUT Verizon DSL is the only broadband ISP that doesn't Cap your bandwith per month like I have heard most ISP's do. I have heard of many ISP's sending 'Dear John' type letters killing their Broadband access for little to no reasons other than high usage.

It's a blessing in disguise that I in the end, I went with Verizon DSL as I download about 30-60Gigs a month.:thumbsup:

You should also have 5Mb/768kb available to you for an additional charge as well. At least that's the plan in my part of the country for Cox (New England).

I have 3Mb down and 384kb up. It used to be 2mb down and 384kb up, but a couple months ago they switched it up a mb.

If i had a mb up it would rock. I have earthlink.

Well Cox says online that the limit is 30GB.. I have went over 30 and have not any issues.. (Granted i didn't do it repeatedly )

They are a pretty reasonable company IMHO..

But i had Verizon and like them also..
