Just one week after I buy 6 3TB reds for $5 more per drive...
REDs have always been more expensive. They're good for hardware raid, but if you're running software raid such as ZFS/unraid/flexraid/snapraid, then you're much better off buying "consumer" grade hard drives.
You're like the only one who doesn't know they observe jewish holidays.
I find that very hard to believe. If you have a chart of the religious affiliations of all ten thousand online computer stores, great, but I have other hobbies.
Why the hostility? All I did was post their announcement, word for word, to save people from wasting their time, just like I would if an item had been discontinued, or the price was raised. It's not like I said, "WTF is this all about??"
I suspect it's because B&H is pretty much the camera store. They carry electronics, but they're primarily photography, and they're more-or-less the baseline for the best prices from a reputable shop. Adorama is also pretty good, but doesn't carry quite as much. Why the hostility?
