Now if she was 18, had fully and inarguably matured. Yet still felt like a "boy" then it would be the descision then to perhaps get a sex change. Or whatever.

I think now the parents are just making things worse for the kid. I think this is probably just a phase, and that she is a Tom boy. But girls can be tom boys, there is nothing wrong with that, in fact Tom boys arguably make the best girls.

EDIT: I don't agree with the agenda issue, just that its the WRONG descision, and will fvck up the childs life. The agenda is irrelevant if you ask me, only the kids life is important here.

Now we're on the right track. I'm no expert but I'm taking a Sex and Gender course and we just went over and over this stuff. Boys and girls are taught how to act and how not to act by parents and peers. However, there is still a strong biological force present within and the child knows which sex they are.

I believe he's saying that this case could have nothing to do with personality and everything to do with biology. Again, look up Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome (AIS) to see what probably happened here.

Check my thread again, I edited it because I didn't see the agenda part. I could really care less about that.

But as to the example your implying. I will be honest and admit that I WAS one of those boys. I don't really care if people make fun, its a normal phase, thats all it was a phase. I put on my sisters liatart (or however you spell it) and pretended to be a girl. This phase lasted all of maybe a month. That was it.

I don't have all the facts on this case, but its in my opinion that thats all this is. A phase. She can wear boys cloths and nobody will even notice or care, thats the wonderful thing about being a girl, they can wear boys or girls clothing or shoes. But to take it to the extent the parents have done is just wrong in my mind. They could be making huge issues for the girl/boy in the future that might not of been an issue after a couple months.

Agreed that there must be some medical reason... but if I want to change my daughter's name to "Jack" or "Bob" - no one can stop me legally.

My point was, that just because she has male tendencies (if thats the case), there is nothing to say that she will be any happier as a boy than she is as a girl if her anatomy doesn't match her gender - especially given her age.

The parents knew the true sex based on chromosmes however when the article states "body of a girl" that likely means underdeveloped male genetalia. Therefore based on socieital standards they chose to "make" the child female based on appearance when in fact the child has the XY make up of a male. Now stop arguing.

What's it like living in a world of such absolutes? You think that there can't be ANY people entering puberty at age 9? Are you completely unaware of all the studies done that show children are entering puberty at obscenely early ages due to hormone treatments on foods? A girl/guy/whatever can start puberty as early as 9 these days. Puberty = sexuality = possibility of realization of something like this. People don't start magically being able to drive at 16, drink at 21 or magical "better" drivers at 25 when the rates drop. It's NOT absolute.
