I have a Panasonic. It works great, but has given me a few issues when trying to play something that was burned on a recorder on a computer. VCD's also won't work with mine. HOWEVER... that is Panasonic specific... and this might do awesome in that field.

I had forgotten about this deal.

I just clicked on the special overview link and the new deals are up. They have 5 pack of dvd + or - R for $6.99 again. I don't remember what the cases were last week but this one is the dvd style black cases. I may stop in and get a pack.

I checked everything on the box, and it seems to be of pretty good quality... has all the features I'd want it to have...

Well, after some searching, I found that the Lite-On dvd recorder has been as low as $200, so maybe I'll wait until the next good deal.

another bump, this deal is still going at my local Aldi's... cashier says they've had them for a while and she expects the manager to discount them soon to get rid of them.

Anyone yet have more information on these burners? Is the quality good, etc (the normal questions)

Well, after some searching, I found that the Lite-On dvd recorder has been as low as $200, so maybe I'll wait until the next good deal.

The Pioneer A06/106 can be found at www.newegg.com or www.compusa.com for just over $100,and has a wide range of media compatibilty,and is a dual
format burner. This is the one to get.......

The dvd recorders we're referring to are basically the "new" VCR... instead of to VHS, it's directly to DVD. (and so far, I've only seen them to DVD+, no dual)

Got ya,Doc!!! I saw that one you guys speak of,and one of them plays and records MP4 on CDR with amazing clarity and Dolby Digital 5.1....it might be the same one
