5.25" drive bay Power Switches

I bought a Cosmos S computer case. It looked like exactly what I needed, but when I got it I found out the control panel on the top wouldn't work. I contacted tech support, which informed me that they didn't stock the parts for the case, because it was too new. This was a new excuse for me.

After three months of trying to get Cooler Master to replace my panel on the top of the case I decided to never buy one of their products again.

Can anyone recommend a front panel power switch that I could slip into a 5.25" drive bay? I'm going to use the case, but I can't get the computer to turn on without one of these switches. Thanks much.

are you sure you connected the original pwr switch cable to the mobo header properly? Not all cases work the same.

Yeah. The computer works great aside from that main power switch.

The power switch is the same as the reset switch - and you could temporarily hook your reset switch to the pwr on/off header pins until you figure out what to do about the actual pwr switch and cable. A little troubleshooting with an ohmmeter or multimeter would locate the problem with the pwr switch assembly. Maybe a dab of solder could fix it up. Do you have any electrically handy friends?

I am totaly shocked to hear CM was reluctant to help. Generally they will bend over backwards to correct issues and help out the customer. This is the first i've heard of poor support from CM. Even if they didn't have the parts on hand they should be willing to pull the part from a boxed case and send it too you. I'd look into moving deaper into the complaint prosses. If you where doing this threw Email then i suggest giving them a call and talking to someone higher up. Then you can pitch the idea of either an RMA on the case or getting the parts from them. Bottom line is its under warenty and its there resposibility to get it working right for you.
