>Link to a correct wall plug..and it even comes in cream color to match the LCD/PSone $17.79

BTW...got my LCD today. I received it quickly. Looks pretty good, though I cant test it as I dont yet have a power supply for it, nor a PSone to attach it to. I do have a power supply coming however, so I'll post more when that arrives. Initially, I never intended to use this with a Playstation (I dont even own one), but now a LCD/Psone/Battery combo is starting to look pretty neat. Can anyone talk me out of this?

Hey everyone, after doing some looking around I found out some info regarding these PSOne 5.6" composite displays when used for computer purposes (in car installs, etc.) I found a screenshot of one person who took a picture with his digital camera while using one of these (Not this exact brand, but the same size and input type). Here is the image, I have resized it to "actual" size (Approximately 4.5" x 3.3"). This user was running a resolution of 320x240 in Windows.

Screenshot taken with a digital camera of 5.6" LCD using Composite input

And for those of you who can't use your imaginations! Here is a picture "actual" size again, to give you an idea just how big the GameVue is in real life.

Screenshot above layed on top of the GameVue

WARNING: Keep in mind, neither of these is a picture that I took, so don't ask me for more pictures. These are just examples to show you what we might be getting.... Also, when I say "actual" size, that all depends on your screen resolution of the computer you are viewing the pictures with.... I have my computer set at 1600x1200 on a 19" monitor, everything I view is a tad on the smaller side. This means, if you took a ruler and measured the image on your screen, it's actually smaller than 5.6" diagonally.

EDIT: Btw, anyone know if a 6v 2a PS will work with this? I have one that my USB hub came with, but it doesn't seem to be the 7.5v this thing needs....

Are there any video inputs? Isn't this for the PSOne? I'm confused, can someone explain how this works?

Not me! I have the original series 1000 PSX and was considering picking up a PSOne just because they're SO cheap now. I had also considered picking up the Sony PSOne/LCD package for $150 but then last week I saw the GameVue was marked down from $129.99! Of course I couldn't resist buying it and a PSOne to go with it!

Anyway, I think this is a lot cooler than the Gameboy Advance I thought of picking up. I'm not limited to Pokemon and Final Fantasy type games and I can use all my good old PSX games. Now I just need to find that battery

One thing that I noticed about my LCD is that it seems to have a slightly burned-in image on it as if it came out of a hand-held game or PDA. I didn't even know it was possible to burn an LCD. It's not really that bad and it's only noticeable when there's a large area of a light color on the screen. For only $50 you won't hear me complaining. I just thought I'd mention it because I know how nitpicky some Hot Dealers can be! The colors are pretty good and I haven't noticed any bad ghosting while playing Rage Racer :| and Gran Turismo.

I'm actually thinking of picking up one more to mess with if there's any left...Just not from here! :Q

Small (looks like same size as PSOne) DVD/mp3 player $99 in tomorrow's ad circular for Target, but I am uncertain if it could easily be made portable or use cigarette lighter adapter. The ad reads: "KOSS COMPACT DVD/CD PLAYER Easily connects to your TV. Includes S-video and component outputs. MP3, CD-R/CD-RW playback and remote control." Picture shows 4 bright colors, so you might want a hot deal on model paint too.

If anyone goes to Target to check these out please report back what the power supply is like. No idea if this supports VCD's, on-screen display of mp3 titles, region-free hacks, etc. Didn't see them on Target.com.

Could be regional, I don't know. The ad page has a blue band across the top (page 16 here) and says "wild colors, great gifts". It is full of electronics that I think are targeted to middle school kids. Gameboy advance is at the bottom. It looks more like a toy section. The main colors are blue, purple, and orange. At first glance you would not notice this is a dvd player because it looks more like an answering machine to match the telephones next to it.

Anyone know if it is possible to use this in conjunction with a car dvd player? Is the quality of the screen ok?

OK, this may sound like a stupid question, but is there any way to make PSOne to play VCD's? That would totally kick a$$!
Also, could this screen be adapted to Dreamcast?

to play VCD on PS 1 you need mod chip.
I did see some Japanese version of PS 1 do play VCDs about 5 or 6 years ago.

I'm interested in installing this for my odyssey. Since this is 5.6 it's most likely going on the back of head rest. Anyone have experience with this? What do I need for this? Install sites that I can get some tips on?

Got my LCd and also got a spare PSone power supply off of e-bay. Hooked it up to my DVD player and watched "Blade". It works well, but as previously stated, there is some sort of image shadow burned into the screen, including some sort of asian characters, too bad I can't read them.. It's not terrible, but it is there. To be honest however, if the screen is showing something, it's not very noticeable. I think these LCD's were pulled from something else and then placed into new housings. Still, for $50.00, it's a good deal. My guess is all of the $50.00 LCD's that Outpost is selling are like this.
